So many great observations Iffy! I’ve been skeptical on the Wendy symbolism theories, but your point about Jonah here does make it sound more solid.
And you know - for half a second, I thought Ruth’s choice of the white dress was a bit different for her (when was the last time we ever saw her in anything white?!). Definitely will watch again with the religious references in mind.
Well said, Otter. You always have something smart to say
That was my first thought as well…”Texas Simple Massacre.”
Definitely preferred the 2003 version also.
Agree with all of the above posts. All of Tom’s lines about prison were great, exacerbated by Shiv’s continued indifference…
I’m thinking, ‘seriously!!’
If all you can say at the end of Season 1 is ‘I don’t know,’ then it definitely wasn’t for you.
One word: trainwreck.
In my opinion, Darlene’s best scene will always be the scene in S3 with the parenting class. For all the reasons you mentioned, you can physically feel the tension that something bad was going to happen!
Definitely an interesting scene. I’ve watched it twice now, and can’t really put my finger on why Darlene wasn’t participating in the conversation, rather pointedly. It doesn’t seem like she has a reason not to share in the excitement of a their new business plan.
Let me start out by saying I absolutely love this show, and I really liked this season.
That being said, why did Javi have to be a character at all? I know…plot device…accelerant to other issues….but it felt rather funny to have Omar Navarro complaining about Javi’s impatience when that was a dominant personality trait of his. And Omar is wanting to get out, but do we know why Omar really needs to ‘get out?’
