Pre-internet era, remote Island near Costa Rica. Probably mostly built by south american workers long before dinosaurs were ever cloned. Important people likely to talk were well paid and signed secrecy agreements. While she resisted the infection, she was obviously mentally damaged. I have to agree, this style of early/mid 00 filmmaking has aged poorly. The flashing images, quick cuts and fast forwards are annoying as hell and only shows poor skill at filming proper action. So it's a prequel...with the characters from the previous movies, while the actors are 15 -20 years older. Sounds like a terrible idea in every possible ways. I re-watched it recently and it was not as good as I remembered it. The London intro and the climax inside the mansion are great, everything else, not so much. The first big action scene where Mike and Selena show up throwing molotov cocktails and blowing a gas station (just like that) made little sense. Lots of quick cuts and you can barely see what the hell is going on. Frank climbing over wrecked cars using his cab as if it were a monster truck was ridiculous. Then there's the completely untainted and unspoiled grocery store. How would that ever happen while everything else is looted or destroyed? Frank gets mad when they find no soldiers at the checkpoint and wonders where they could go now, but they have been safely travelling across the UK for 3 days without running into any trouble. Proving they could easily find a place to settle in relative safety. Why are they writing "hello" sewing dozens of bed sheets together (and a perfectly square red dress) while they could save themselves the trouble of sewing a letter by writing "help" instead? I think the movie needed a moment where Selena and Mike shake Jim up a bit when they get to his parent's house: "Ok Jim, your parents are dead as we told you, but we need to survive now so listen to us. Get dressed, find a backpack, a weapon and here's how we avoid attracting infected". Instead they let him wander in his hospital uniform using lights. It also seems a bit weird and excessive that the soldiers all got crazy only a month after the outbreak started. They had mothers, sisters and girlfriends just 4 weeks ago, I refuse to believe that they would so suddenly turn into rapists. 1 year later maybe. She was terrible and tried a music career after acting. She had some sort of emo/goth thing going on. That failed too. Some people see woke and SJW propaganda everywhere. Some people see racism and sexism everywhere. Learn to spot fakes: Unnaturally round and symmetrical. Nipples sits too high. They don't sag when a women removes her bra. They don't flatten when the women lies on her back. Star Wars movie ranked from best to worst: OG trilogy . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Everything else made after 1983. Netflix I tried to watch the documentary, but it failed to capture my attention. Something about the presentation and narration was off and didn't work for me. I couldn't even get the the supposedly so bad it's good conspiracy stuff. People move to Texas because California sucks. Then they work to turn Texas into California. Most British and Australian actors can do american accents easily, it's the other way around that is a rare and impressive. I think a slightly better story and less cheesy action could have made this movie even better. The ending with his dad and friend fighting what seemed like an infinite number of "Russians commandos" was just too ridiculous. They arrived in just a few SUV, but the movie made it seems like they had buses full of bad guys. Big forehead Looks like a nazi. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/86/Irma_Grese.jpg I loved it as a teenager. Not so much when I saw it later. Dylan Walsh as the main protagonist is so boring and the whole thing feels like an Indiana Jones meets Jurassic Park failed experiment. Totally. Replace the Tangerine Dream music by cheesy saxophone (which was often used in sexy dramas or comedies from the 80's) and the movie is ruined. The best portrayal of German soldiers during WWII on cinema. There was never any vitriol towards them. They created and fueled the drama entirely by themselves. These people are bipolar. "Lola was too sexualized for a kid's movie" "OMG, if you have a problem with the WAP music video, you are sexist and racist!"
