Whatever you "explained" makes no sense. That's absolutely not how that film works. The film works because it has a great script and entertaining characters. Diversity has nothing to do with the quality of Knives Out. That's what I'm practically saying. Like everyone nowadays when they see the slightest of diversity on film or TV, it ends up being a major problem. Knives Out should not be controversial when it comes to diversity what so ever. As for the 2016 Ghostbusters, yeah that was trash and I hated the all the female characters in that film but not because of their gender, just the way their characters were written. And yeah Fury Road on the other hand gave us Furiousa who is one of the best female characters on film. I just can't stand when people criticise certain films for being "woke" when no themes of diversity is portrayed in that particular film like Knives Out. The criticism makes no sense. Well that's all actual real life tragic events that we should actually be concerned about. Not some "woke" nonsense portrayed in film. Seriously that's your concern? A female character getting inheritance. That's hilarious. Your literally bringing in politics & crime and comparing it to a movie that has nothing to do with any of that stuff. I don't know what that's supposed to mean but as far as I know, my mentality actually provides some sense unlike some people who just critique diversity in film no matter how minor it is. Sorry but your logic honestly makes no sense regarding your whole "woke" perspective of the film. What has this world come to. Seriously. The movie is literally a murder mystery revolving around a family, Detectives, and an immigrant nurse. This has nothing to do with being diverse just cause at the end Ana de Armas's character who is a female foreign immigrant ends up taking the inheritance & the house. So basically from your perspective, if the character was a white male instead who practically was in the same scenario as Ana de Armas's character then it would be no problem at all. You're looking way too into it. Just because a character who is a female ends up getting all the inheritance & the house by the end of the film against a family who's race is white doesn't make it woke. If you're sexist just say it. I don't understand. What does that movie have anything to do with being "woke"? Well that's your opinion. Part One was such masterfully well crafted film. Just because it's not some fast paced CGI bloated nonsense of a film doesn't mean it isn't watchable. Agree with pretty much everything you've said. Craig imo is the best Bond and I don't care what anyone else says. The guy brought something unique and special to the character while also being the closest iteration of the character envisioned by Fleming, with Dalton being in the mix as well. I've seen every Bond film and Craig is primarily the reason why I consider myself a diehard Bond fan. I've loved every iteration before him from Connery to Brosnan but Daniel is the one who stood out the most because his Bond had an arch throughout his films which makes you resignate with his Bond the most. I also agree Casino Royale and Skyfall are masterpiece's and they are two of my favorite movies of all time in general. Skyfall was my first Bond film as well as being the first Bond film I've seen in theaters in IMAX. So that film holds a special place in my heart but I think Casino Royale is slightly better. Quantum of Solace I think is alright. I know many consider it to be underrated and I can totally see why. What stood out to me the most was him over coming Vespers death and I loved that the film continued the trend of Craig's Bond being dark and all that. My favorite scene was with him and Mathis on the plane. I just didn't care for the story or the villain. Spectre I thought was enjoyable but it suffered due to the lack of screentime for Waltz and the third act when it's revealed him and Bond are half brothers. I actually don't mind them being brothers, it's just the motivation from Blofeld really held the film down with Blofeld starting this whole organization just because his father payed for attention to Bond then himself. As for No Time to Die, I thought it was damn good conclusion and I didn't mind the ending at all. I just wished we had more Rami Malek and that his character was fleshed out more. But yeah Daniel Craig is definitely the best Bond and I consider him to be one of my film heroes who I look up to. That's exactly what I admire the most from him. He treats us audience as if we are smart and actually appreciate the full craftsmanship of filmmaking when it comes to script, acting, cinematography, production design, music, etc. I absolutely agree. It's practically most social media platforms and popcorn films like Fast and Furious and a majority of the MCU are one of the reasons why peoples attention span has been so low and therefore genuinely great films like Dune and Blade Runner 2049 either gets overlooked or heavily criticized for not being such fast paced action packed blockbusters. I don't know. I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. Arrival I can see it being a hit or miss with some people but I wouldn't go as far as saying it's horrible. 2049 can be seen as "boring" but you have to look at that film from a well made technical driven standpoint and not an action pack popcorn flick. And Sicario I found to be very compelling and intriguing. Denis films are different and you have to go into these films with an open mind. If you don't like his style, I strongly recommend Prisoners. That's probably his most different film out of all the ones he's made so far. Almost all of his films have been amazing. Dune, 2049, Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival, & Incendies are all amazing films. I don't know what you mean about "crap fests" Absolutely. Easily my most anticipated movie of 2023. Yeah about that..... https://deadline.com/2021/10/dune-sequel-greenlit-by-legendary-warner-bros-theatrical-release-1234862383/amp/ Also I disagree with you 100% on your take on Denis Villenueve. He is one of the best directors working today. Blade Runner 2049 is fantastic and so is this film. Not every film has to necessarily be so called "fun". Yes we have many genuine great fun films but there are directors who rather make films to treat audiences as if they were intelligent as well. For me yes. My top 5 most anticipated for 2022 are: 1. The Batman 2. Mission Impossible: 7 3. Killers of the Flower Moon 4. Scream 5 5. Knives Out 2 (Assuming Killers of the Flower Moon & Knives Out 2 come out next year) Thank god. Absolutely agree. It had a pretty solid 40 million plus opening weekend so there's a great chance part 2 will be green lit. Yeah Denis is one of those directors who understands the whole basis of filmmaking when it comes down to acting, story, cinematography, music, sound, structure, and editing. This is probably my second favorite Denis Villenueve film behind Blade Runner 2049. What an achievement it was and yeah hopefully it earns many nominations. I thought the length was pretty good and I'm a sucker for long movies anyway. I doubt there will be an extended cut though. I'm not necessarily a "Dune nerd" cause I haven't read the book nor watched the original film. I was just on board mainly cause of Denis Villenueve. We definitely need part 2 or a complete trilogy since you mentioned it covered only the first third of the novel.
