IMDb ratings may have meant something in the past, but not anymore. Its just natural, that new films gets more votes than old ones. I think only Memento is worth top250 from Nolan. Memento The Prestige Batman Begins The Dark Knight Inception Interstellar Dunkirk Insomnia The Dark Knight Rises (can't remember much of it, so I'm not sure if it deserves the last place) That's funny, I'd also pick The Dead Zone and The Deer Hunter. True Romance could be the third. "They probably thought "Everybody's going to love this."" Or more likely "everybody's going to see it anyway..." Its only one of the best movies of the 80's, so yes. Magneto Standard affair from him, nothing special. Nope, I think Moonraker is. Probably not, he's just not making movies I'm interested in. My favourites are The King of Comedy and After Hours, I'm not into his gangster movies. He surely had a good run during that time... On those three I'd add also L.A. Confidential (1997) Memento Count of Monte Cristo Ravenous Yes it is. I think its Nolan's best, and I'm not a Nolan fan. After Interstellar I thought he was an overrated director (altough he still makes interesting films). Halloween Prince of Darkness The Thing Young Virginia Madsen... Wow, I haven't done as extensive research on the subject. All I've seen is praise of this score. People who say its bad seem to be in small minority. Maybe the score has slipped under the radars because the movie its associated with is quite mediocre and not as famous as Star Wars, for instance... "The best scores most people list are John Williams. I usually see Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jaws, Psycho, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, The Mission, Superman '78, The Lord of the Rings, etc." Those are very famous high profile movies (well, maybe with exception of The Mission), so its not surprising they climb on the charts... "I love that Arnold plays an everyman in this film, too. He's physically huge, but he's just a workin' Joe type. It's neat." I think the story required more brains and less muscle, that's primarily the reason why I have disliked Ahnold in the lead in this one. "And the music score is one of the most underrated in history." You mean Conan the Barbarian score? Its hailed as one of the best scores ever, so I can't see how its underrated. Sure, it didn't win an oscar, but few do. Might be Ahnold's better ones, but Verhoeven's weakest films (Hollow Man was worse). I liked even Showgirls more than this in the end. The first Terminator is the best one to me... I think I haven't seen him in anything else besides Superman. The Wild Bunch was his definitive role.
