He was a little bit of a jerk, but not nearly as bad as season 16.
I could see him getting mean and angry sometimes, but as they're only kids you don't want to get mad too often.
He was screaming because he felt the cops were pushing on his knee, possibly causing pain. I'm glad he wasn't arrested too.
I've known a few people that have bipolar disorder and exhibit similar traits, and they're not always easy to deal with. I know what it's like too.
I noticed one of the deputies was cringing trying to put him in the car.
I remember him saying about his team winning the championship too. I too hope he wasn't abusive towards players, although based on the way he gets mean with suspects, it wouldn't surprise me at all either.
I do remember the traffic stop/stolen property segment too.
I've seen both segments.
I actually thought the deputies in the season 27 segment handled most of the situation badly. I thought the man's bipolar disorder caused him to get more violent throughout as he was being put in handcuffs and later the patrol car. I also didn't like the fact that the main deputy was so quick to put him in cuffs because he didn't like his attitude. I believed he escalated the situation.
I've said before he was a total jerk with both the men in the SUV.
If he's such a jerk on COPS at times, it wouldn't shock me if he was an abusive coach in softball.
Both of those segments I liked. I thought the middle-aged black guy in the Walmart parking lot who went on a rant and then got tased was great too.
I Googled him once and I did find out about his arrest for embezzlement.
He seemed to get worse with each passing year. He was so aggressive and mean in season 16, pretty much being a jerk. I think he was a jerk in every one of his season 16 segments.
Season 27 was somewhat similar to the COPS seasons from the mid to late 2000s. Season 26 had some good segments but was mostly boring and repetitive.
Large/felony amounts I don't have a problem with but the small amounts of drugs/"This isn't mine" types got old quickly.
The best season on Spike/Paramount Network was season 27 IMO. Season 29 might have been the second-best but all the others were average at best.
It wouldn't surprise me if he was planning to rob the store. I too bet he was glad that he wasn't going for robbery.
I know Lower was calm in season 11 and very mean in season 16. It's been a while since I've watched his season 14 episodes. Was he that mean in season 14?
I definitely agree right there. I don't agree with vehicles being confiscated just because the owners bought some drugs.
Yes, that's what stunk about the last few seasons on Spike/Paramount Network. Those got old very quickly.
I was glad too. Sims went inside the convenience store to ask what happened and the people were shocked about why he would be there for a half-hour outside with a knife.
I agree. It's a waste of jail space.
I can't remember the bicyclist's charges.
Sims isn't that bad despite being smug. I think Lower would be probably meaner. I'd rather take Sims over Lower any day.
I thought he was a little smug too. He wasn't that bad compared to some of the other officers I've seen.
i liked the story where he was told he was going to eat New York Pizza but his friend ordered Domino's instead. I thought that was funny.
Dowlearn should indeed have been more patient with the parolee. The suspect definitely became more on edge when Dowlearn became aggressive. I wonder if the suspect was in fear of his life?
I'd do the same thing if someone tossed weed. I'd too be like "What were you thinking".
I was shocked too when I saw the man eat weed in the patrol car. The suspect was very nervous from the start. His Mom picked him up and admitted she only saw him use cigarettes and had no clue about using weed. I hope he learned his lesson.
Yeah, the guy who assaulted his mother probably had anger issues. He later resisted arrest and it took 4 officers to take him down.
I agree he had anger issues dealing with the parolee. I understand you have to sound like an authority figure in the job, but the suspect was complying, even at a slightly slower pace.
You could tell he was a little upset with the guy tossing the weed but at least he was cool.
It reminds me of the time in season 19 in Brevard County Florida, where the young man ate the weed in the back in the patrol car, and the deputy told him "You just turned a misdemeanor into a felony" and lectured him on what happens if you commit a felony.
I think Frentess should have been on another episode too. About Frederick Ferguson, who you also didn't like in the one segment, I thought he was cool in dealing with the suspect who assaulted his mother over the TV channel being changed, and I liked the story he gave at the beginning in which a man shot his brother over onions on a hamburger.
I would have liked to see him in another episode just to see if had an attitude there too.
Villarreal-Dowlearn in the parolee stolen car segment was a jerk but he with the guy tossing marijuana I thought was cool in dealing with him.
It wouldn't surprise me if she went to prison, but I'm betting maybe 2 years, as the crime was probably small in nature.
In some ways, I want to give Frentess the benefit of the doubt as he only appeared in one segment. I'm just wondering if he had a bad night and was angrier than usual.
