The world will be a better place when people stop their idiot celebrity worship. The theory that the Alien eats metal is well represented amongst fans. Also when you observe its nest, on closer inspection the material appears to be made out of the ship’s metal hull that is formed into a melted web. One of the original intended abilities of the Alien was to be able to secrete acid through its skin and reshape its environment. This would make it the utmost unstoppable killing machine, as you would be unable to hide from it when it could just melt its way through any barrier to get to you. If Aliens just died after 24 hours then that makes them less of a threat. The crew could have just holed up until it died. I don’t like that theory. I think more likely is that the creature was going into a dormant state or hibernation.
Facts about Xenomorphs say that it has both crazy good hearing abilities and crazy good sensing abilities. It makes no sense that it is asleep at the time.
It probably wasn’t sleeping per se, just resting. It knew Ripley was in there with it but didn’t regard her as a threat, and was saving her for a later snack. “Traveling through hyperspace ain't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?” Basically the explanation is that hyperspace is more like flight lanes lying outside their dimension. It requires careful precision, and initiating warp speed probably requires a large open space pointed away from any planetary bodies. Trying to hyper-speed their way a few thousand miles to another point in orbit would end very badly for them or wind up placing them in a wrong location entirely. It’s called a ‘Gary Stu’
I have a hard time believing Kasdan (the genius behind Solo - A Star Wars story???) wrote this
You’re comparing a man’s work 40 years apart. Also Kasdan wrote “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “The Big Chill,” and “Body Heat.” Empire does suffer from being the middle child, doesn’t really have an ending. It’s like someone smeared a small glob of paint on the Sistine Chapel. So basically it was all Michael Eisner’s fault. Jessica Rabbit I just dropped in to see what condition his condition was in. “I plainly said the sentence was way too harsh, but Turkey wanted to make an example of him for the consequences of smuggling.” So you basically agree with me, although earlier you were trying to argue people who use harmless drugs don’t deserve to be treated humanely, and now you’ve flip flopped the issue. So which is it? “cliched pro-hedonist non-arguments.” “Hedonism” is not even a crime in most developed countries. That term in itself is a non-argument. “people who have to partake of foreign substances to "enjoy" life” I get it, you’re a Puritan. “...being part of the "establishment."” Gee, for being so “anti-establishment”, your views sure seem to line up a lot with theirs.
libertinism IS the establishment culture.
What business is it of yours what people do with their spare time recreationally? You’re better off trying to ban alcohol, imdb trivia, or listen to him talk, they sound identical. He just wasn’t credited for it. That’s not a plot hole
On the one hand, it seems the Thing can infect you by dropping a single cell into your tea,
It can’t. Otherwise, there would be no reason for the Thing to reveal itself/attack violently. The Thing can only assimilate others by forcibly digesting them. You’re a complete nonce, lol. Hashish is a completely harmless plant. It’s the same as giving someone 30 years for having a backpack full of pot. You’re an utterly delusional establishment shill. Damn son, you’re only supposed to lick the boot, not make a meal out of it. Also serious medical attention. He probably would have bled to death anyway. A bullet would have been more humane. Could be. I think she was doomed no matter what she did. The doctors could just label her as insane or dangerous if she tried to run off with the baby.
This movie had an implausible plot. Even a child would have realized it wasn’t a game.
You’ll notice the first half of the movie is basically a screwball comedy, the rest is obviously not portrayed realistically or is at least toned down for the sake of humour. It’s portrayed from a child’s point of view.
