She looked amazing when she landed with Stark and Nebula's ship. It was a gut punch when she turned up 20 minutes later looking like a dyke.
Remember Justice League 2, The Flash film that came out in 2018, The Cyborg film? Me neither.
You are missing the fact that both of them will continue after this movie. This was the Swansong of Steve and Tony. They will probably still get their moments.
"She's kind of a knucklehead, that's a weakness."
Where were we shown this? What were the negative consequences?
If you watched Doctor Strange, you would know that The Ancient One could see all possible futures up to the point of her own death. So she already knew that she would meet strange, and that he would become the sorcerer supreme. She would also know that he would be able to see possible futures with the time stone, as she had done.
Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel are both a fish out of water.
In Wonder Woman Steve is basically the straight(in the comedic sense) character and Diana is the one who is kind of goofy. Steve is just a mortal guy and Diana is a demi-god, but she falls in love with him and shows herself to be vulnerable and humble, if naive at times. Their relationship is comparable to Thor and Jane to some extent.
In Captain Marvel Nick Fury (a character who has been dead serious and mysterious in every movie up to this point) is turned into the butt of every joke. Carol is snarky and arrogant. She has to go up against all of the people who were her comrades at the beginning of the film, and there is not a flicker of emotion from her. Just to emphasize how much "she don't need no man" we are shown how contemptuous she is of her former mentor at the end of the film. The only people she seems to have any affection for are Monica and her daughter, and Marvell. All women of course.
Lol
Even Thor, born a God/prince with Godlike powers had to earn them back by being willing to die. Captain Marvel just had to "believe in herself".
Iron Man got a wife after 9 movies. Same with Captain America. Basically when they got to the end of their Superhero arcs. Batman was never married. Superman was never married. Thor, Daredevil, Banner, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Spiderman. The only one who has been portrayed as having a family is Hawkeye.
Officially they are, but practically they are not. I think all of the actual canon TV series will be the ones on the Disney Streaming service. We will see when the next seasons are made if they completely ignore the snap I guess.
Unfortunately true. What's especially frustrating is that Wonder Woman already showed them how to do a female superhero correctly. You can make her strong, and still be a woman. Instead of making her like a man, emotionless and desexualized. Captain Marvel ended up like a DC film, and Wonder Woman was like a Marvel film. If only they could be swapped out.
You are ignoring the value of the intellectual property. If Disney pays 4 billion dollars for Lucas films, and then a Starwars film makes 100m profit, that is not good business. WB could have sold the rights for Batman for a lot of money 5 years ago. Today they would be worth a lot less because of the failure of BvS and Justice League. So in real terms, they lost money.
Thursday projected 55-60m.
500m total.
It has a 7.1 on IMDB 2 months after release. That means in 2 years it will be about 6.8.
Yes. No one was saying they were bad movies when they came out. It's been retconned that they were bad movies because so many of the later Marvel films were even better. Everyone hates Captain Marvel and it's only been out 2 months.
It's way, way worse than both of those movies. Both Iron Man 2 and The Dark World were enjoyable movies. Captain Marvel was bad, AND boring.
Lol, did you spend the last 3 days scouring through statistics so you could crawl back out of your hole?
Endgame had a big Monday to Tuesday drop because the Monday was very high. The Sunday to Tuesday drop is lower than any avengers film.
Avengers Sunday to Tuesday drop; 69%
Age of Ultron Sunday to Tuesday drop - 74%
Infintiy War Sunday to Tuesday drop - 66%
Black Panther Sunday to Tuesday drop - 65%
Endgame Sunday to Tuesday drop - 62%
No one is complaining about race and gender. They are complaining about the films they love being ruined by people who happen to be obsessed with race and gender.
Black Panther was mostly a good film, because Ryan Coogler is a good director with a passion for the comics. It had some stupid things in it like how they should help people who "look like them", which is racist if you think about it, but as long as the film is good I can let it go. The same thing goes for the "she's not alone" scene in Infinity War. It didn't detract from the film, so I'm fine with it. Captain Marvel turning into the worst film in the MCU was a bitter pill to swallow. The worst part of the whole film was the "I'm just a girl" scene. That scene pushed a mediocre film over the edge to being a turd. And the "she's got help" scene was the worst part of Endgame, and soured what was otherwise an ecstatic third act.
People get mad when the fiction they love is ruined by people who don't love the material but are interested in making propaganda instead.
Luke lost against Vader and got his hand cut off, and that was after he had training. He only beat Vader in the third film. And Vader didn't really want to kill his son. How is that the same as Rey beating Ren in her first film with zero training?
