It was watchable until the last few seasons. Those were just a chore to get through and I ended up fast forwarding through most of Season 9 itself just to get to the finale. Season 1 was so fucking phenomenal but they just totally lost steam after that and never recovered. I don't regret watching (most) of it but goddamn that drop off after S2 was HUGE. As bad as Arrow got it was at least tolerable all the way through. Flash's tertiary characters and shitty writing (which got worse every season) just demolished it. This show just became such a trainwreck and I'm glad it's over honestly. Just finished Magician: Apprentice by Raymond Feist. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes old school High Fantasy. Yeah, I'm aware that the Drizzt books are just a small part of the Forgotten Realms universe. He just seemed like the most interesting/renowned character in that setting so I mainly focused on his books. I have a handful of other FR books that I haven't gotten around to yet but I'll definitely give them a go at some point. I'm more of a Sci-Fi guy myself but I have enjoyed some fantasy. The Hobbit/LOTR (obligatory) DUNE (the whole series) The Belgariad Dragonlance Chronicles The Legend of Drizzt I've tried to start The Wheel of Time multiple times but the pacing is so glacial it just ends up frustrating me. Maybe I'll give it another go when I'm retired and have mountains of free time ahead of me. I really like the concept though and the writing quality is phenomenal, near Tolkien level. Most fantasy I've tried bores me as it feels much too samey and too similar to LOTR. Even some of my favorites I've listed are pretty tropey but I felt like the authors at least had fun messing around with the tropes (Eddings in particular did this). Haven't tried Sanderson (yet) and Rothfuss (Name of the Wind) seems to have the same problem Jordan did with WoT did so I dropped it pretty quickly after starting it (I'll probably give it another chance at some point though). Agreed. I just rolled my eyes when the typical "Women have it so hard" speech hit but I didn't let it detract from the movie. Making Justin Long's character a typical rapey douchbag almost came close to annoying me but I understood what they were doing with him. Overall the stupid moments didn't detract from it too much IMHO. I was pretty sure from the get go that Keith was a red herring. They intentionally casted the IT guy because they knew most people would subconsciously assume he's the killer/kidnapper/etc (or at the very least involved somehow). Pretty much agree with this. I would probably bump it up to an 8 because I enjoyed what they were doing with Long's character until they just flat out made him an asshole and (implied) rapist. Came so close to being a great movie. Sometimes you want a McBurger. Not every meal has to be 5 star. Again, like I said, the developers of this show made it clear that they were doing their own thing with the IP. If you want the story of the games/books why not just play the games or read the books again? Why does everything have to be a retelling/rehash of existing material? Agreed. I miss when this show was fun and lighthearted. It's starting to feel more like Arrow lately and not in a good way. Agreed. They are by far my least favorite characters on the show and I just want to tune out whenever they are on screen. Cecil and Katlin are both pretty much useless at this point as well. This show is way too bloated. I'm pretty much in agreement with you. I really enjoyed this show up until this past season which just felt meh to me. I was hyped when they brought back Constantine back in S3 since I'm a huge fan of the character and enjoyed the (sadly) cancelled NBC show. But, honestly, I think two seasons of magic stuff is enough. Just give Constantine his own show or have him be relegated to guest appearances. In the end I don't think it really matters since I have a feeling Legends won't be around after another season or so anyway since they're about to hit the 100 episode mark for syndication. Honestly, the show gets worse after Rose leaves. Even though the lead actress is better. Season 2 has been a complete trainwreck so far. Not really surprised. The writing has been on the wall for awhile now with the ratings cratering in the past few years. I honestly don't hate the show but it is by far the weakest of the Arrowverse (save for maybe Batwoman). Still, it had its moments. Season 1 was decent if a if bit bland. S2 was actually overall solid since they brought in Superman which gave the show a huge shot in the arm. S3 was where the problems really started to arise with much of the focus being on the typical CW drama tropes (this time with lesbians!). S4 was slightly better since they brought in Jon Cryer's Lex Luthor and had a halfway decent overarching villian with Agent Liberty. S5 was pretty meh but some of that can probably be attributed to the COVID shutdowns. I plan on watching it until the end because I'm a completionist but I probably wouldn't recommend the show as a whole unless you're a hardcore DC fanboy. For everyone else, I'd say watch S1&2 and then maybe S4 if you're really interested. I wouldn't be surprised. I still find it baffling that they didn't just recast Rose's character when she quit. Batwoman is already a pretty niche character so when you replace her with a minority OC you are just going to fracture your audience even more. What a complete waste. I'm not going to defend the movie. It's honestly pretty crap. But it's the right kind of crap if you are in the right mood. I just wanted to watch Nic Cage kick the shit out of puppets and spaz out and this movie delivered for me. It's more of a drama/mystery/sci-fi. There are some light procedural elements but that aspect of the show seems like its (thankfully) going to be kept to a minimum. I honestly enjoyed it alot more than I thought I would. I'd recommended it if you like The X-Files and other shows in that vein. I wouldn't go as far as saying its bad but Russell definitely carries the film. Every other actor in this is mediocre at best. I still thought overall it was a fun movie though. The first 2 are the best by far and are solid action/horror movies that at least sorta attempt to adhere to the source material. The rest of them are objectively bad but can be enjoyed as big dumb action movies. I actually plan on marathoning them all this Halloween season since I haven't seen most of them since release. But, from what I remember my ranking would be: 1>2>3>5>4>6 I enjoyed it in a "So bad, it's good" sort of way.
