Diamonds was number 71....think I ran into a Movie Chat text limit so I could not include the last movie.
Hey snepts....when you sort my Kirk Douglas table by reviews...Paths of Glory jumps up to being his second best movie only behind Spartacus. Man Without A Star did not fare as well when looking at the review %....but still got a good rating of 67%. The Vikings was one of his biggest box office hits...it was 3rd....only behind Spartacus and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Thanks for the feedback.
Hey Sandoz....the original list only looked at his Top 20....that was his Top 20 when looking at a combination of box office, reviews and awards. In Harm's Way just missed the Top 20...as it came in 21st place. Here are all the Kirk pages we have ranked.

Hey nyctc7.....great find...too bad the last 20 or so minutes are not in the video.
Hey Ckid (701).....great comment and great connection to one of my favorite Rip Torn movies. Rest in peace Mr. Torn.
Hey snepts...I like it.
Hey Roguemail.....our website is all about movies and stats. When a movie actor passes away we give tribute to his career through what we have at our disposal...which is the statistics of his movies. Basically we turn a light on that showcases his movie career. Our website only gets about 500,000 views a month...but following some of the other movie websites out there...we give tribute when somebody passes.
That being said....I can understand you thinking it is disrespectful. Our website readers have requested in the past for us to do these tribute pages. He is listed in the Joel Hirschhorn book...Rating The Movie Stars. One of our goals is to do an UMR page on everybody that is in his book....Mr. Torn was one of the 410 thespians listed in that book. So far we have pages on 305 of those people. So....we had his movies already researched and ready to go....we just had not published the page yet. I wish I had published the page last week.....but I did not do that before his passing.
My personal highlights of Rip Torn are found in the return comments on our Torn page. Rest in Peace Mr. Torn.
Humphrey Bogart made lots of movies (forced by contract) that he did not like...but these two he liked the least of all.
1937’s Swing That Lady: Bogart plays a wrestling promoter who brings his wrestler Joe, to the Ozarks, to wrestle a female hillbilly Amazon named Sadie Hills….naturally Bogart falls in love with Sadie and they all live happily ever after in this musical comedy…..Bogart’s thoughts on this movie….”It’s a stinker”
1938’s The Return of Dr. X: Bogart’s only science fiction movie….he plays a mad evil genius doctor who figures out a way to bring the dead back to life. For some reason Bogart refused to talk about this movie later in his life.
Hey ShogunofYonkers...if you love movies then I think you will like our mom and pop movie website. We have been around for 8 years...over 7,000 movie pages....and we do requests. Typically rotate between classic performers and current performers. Our last 5 pages were on Frances Farmer, Omar Sharif, Tom Holland, Anjelica Huston and our first cinematographer...Conrad L. Hall.
Hey twinA.....Donen was a one of the biggest directors working for 20 plus years....he career fizzled out in the late 1970s (Saturn 3) and early 1980s (Blame it on Rio)...but I liked those movies too. Good stuff.
Great comment...I shared this on our website. I agree with lots of what you said. I always thought Blame it on Rio had some funny parts. It plays as a comedy....not sure why people took it as a drama. I am not a huge musical fan....but I do remember the barndance scene...it was quite impressive. As for Lucky Lady the star power of Reynolds, Minnelli and Hackman actually made it hit....14th biggest hit of the year....but one of Donen's worst reviewed movies of his career. Once again...great comment.
Hey sut6432.....I have the same feeling about my late dad and Big Fish as well. Sort of have the same vibe for The Good Year....only in that one Russell Crowe is the son like character to Finney's uncle. Thanks for sharing that movie memory.
The Coen brothers are hit and miss with me.....but Miller's Crossing is a hit in my mind. There is a book called Alternate Oscar by Danny Peary.....and he felt Miller's Crossing should have been the movie to win the Oscar that year. Gabriel Bryne is outstanding in the lead role.
Tom Jones is his most successful movie, it was the one that made him a star....but it is not in my Top 5 Finney movies....those would be Miller's Crossing, Murder on the Orient Express, Big Fish, Amazing Grace (just re-watched that two nights ago) and Before The Devil Knows You Are Dead.
Not all of them....but most of them....lol.
Thanks Ckid...I assume the Overboard is the Kurt/Goldie version. Not last year's remake.
