Were you trying to defend me? I wasn't born yesterday! It sounds like you might have mental issues or a split personality disorder. You're probably the one who got bullied in school if your attitude is this bad! Now tell me something; were you beat up a lot, in school? I feel bad for you, if you were! Nobody should go through that torture porn shit, especially boys! But seriously dude, you need to get laid and not worry about the schoolyard bullies who picked on you in the 5th grade. They're all probably dead! They either killed themselves or were shot in the head by drug dealers! No kid or kids who take sadistic pleasure in beating up others weaker than themselves ever amounted to shit, later in life! There's no such thing! Wow, you're pathetic! You aren't even trying to be funny! Your "Gen Z" humor falls flat! The "generic bully" trope honestly needs to die. We have cartoons like The Owl House and the writers know how to write a bully. Amity Blight starts out as another typical mean girl "alpha bitch", but becomes an actual fleshed out character and has a "bisexual" relationship with the main character, Luz. Hell, even Phineas and Ferb makes you think that Buford is going to be another typical "barbaric bully" (like Francis from The Fairly Oddparents) and then subverts your expectations and makes him a fleshed out character who only sorta bullies the Indian kid but actually genuinely cares about him. Hollywood has no idea that it's 2024 and still uses cardboard cutout "generic bullies", instead of somewhat fleshed out ones. Not saying bullies should be morally complex characters, but they need to stop relying on outdated clichés from the 90s and 2000s. I will say this, at least the bully in Sharkboy & Lavagirl was kinda funny and not just an annoying stereotype who exists for no reason, but to be an asshole. I've seen some movies where the bully is written at first to be as "generic" as possible, but actually gets character development. A good example would be Jack Frost (the Michael Keaton one). The bully in that film was an annyoing prick who just wanted to torment the son every chance he got, however once his dad comes back from the dead as a snowman and gives his tormentors their "just desserts", it felt like the plot did something with these bullies that wasn't a waste of time. Also, the bully shows a human side to him when the son tells him that the talking snowman is his dad who died the previous year and came back as a snowman. That's a better example of a bully in a kids movie. Too bad that never happens much. Instead, let's resort to the most "lazy ass way" possible when it comes to writing bullies, ugh! Do I have to block you? Because I'm so sick and tired of MovieChat being filled with incels like yourself? Did your fucking parents hate you? I mean really, that's your weak ass attempt at a comeback? God, you're pathetic if you can't even come up with a better insult than that! The Wonder Years was a damn near flawless show! I understand no movie, TV show, cartoon/anime, or video game is perfect and every TV show has its bad episodes, even the very best ones. Yeah, this movie sucks and I don't get why it's reputition has gotten better over the years when it doesn't even deserve it! The only funny scene was the part with the late Bob Saget. Out of all the episodes (yes, that includes all seasons), "Fate" is the only episode I truly despise so much! The other episodes didn't piss me off as much. Even when Becky Slater punches Kevin, it was far less insulting then when Eddie did it. Hell, even when Wayne does it (like in the pilot), it's still far less insulting. Ratatouille was terrible and I think I liked Cars better. There just wasn't anything interesting (or engaging) about that movie. Guy runs a fancy resturant with the help of a rat, big friggin whoop! Nobody cares about boring ass stories like that! At least WALL-E was interesting, even if the first half was really boring. Please jump off the nearest cliff! You're a lost cause and a piece of shit! Okay, I'm done talking to lowlives like yourself! This is abuse and I refuse to take anymore from a pompous jerk like yourself. Go away and leave me alone! I've had enough. People like you will never find happiness! You're an awful person who probably had BAD CHILDHOOD and I feel sorry for you if you did! Wow, you are the definition of a "buzz killington". If you're going to be like this, then please go somewhere else. You're so depressing to listen to. God, just go away, please! Take your outdated sour ass delusional views of the world with you, as well. Stop coming off as some "doomsayer" who thinks life is unfair and we should fucking deal with it. Newsflash, this is 2024, not 1970! You're the one who needs to get with the times, grandpa; not me! I'm sorry but people like you bring a damper on our society. Too bad I'm speaking the truth and you don't agree with me, but I don't need any naysayers telling me, otherwise okay? Do I expect every person whom does a bad deed to get punished? No, but the horrific ones like assault shouldn't be ignored. I really hate these poor excuses for one time characters when they're written as awful bully sadists who beat up innocent people and nothing is done about it (such as giving them any form of bad karma). I'm so glad today's TV shows rarely (if ever) do this shit, anymore! Thank God that era is long gone! People like to glorify the past as "great", but when you think about it, it was worse than today, especially given how movie and TV guidelines were almost non-existant and didn't take "mental health" into consideration, hence why stuff like "Karma Houdini" with bully type characters happened in a lot of movies and shows! In fact, this probably hasn't been a thing since 2012 and thank God! So what if Eddie isn't the main character or even a recurring one. That was tastless for the writers to make a bad episode like that! All they had to say in the next episode was he got expelled. Like the narrator just says "Eddie got expelled after beating me up". That's all you need. The Wonder Years had more continuity than other TV shows, so having some relevance to a one time character should've been kinda important, even if they're only mentioned once after their appearance and never brought up again after that. Kids shows may not better today, but at least we're not still resorting to unfair bullying where the bully/bullies are not punished for their crimes, such as assault. I don't care if you disagree with me. You can feel free to do so, but I'm giving you the facts and if you don't like hearing them, too bad. We live a a redaically different world than we did back in the late 80s and early 90s. Hell, bullies are so pathetic today. Even Hollywood bullies were so inaccurately potroyed, compared to real life bullies. Most bullies (even back in the 80s and 90s) just verbally tormented their vicitms. They never stole lunch money or even beat up their vicitms. They may have threatened to do so, but they never actually did. The only places where I could see bullies actually beating up other kids would be places where crime was very, very high like Chicago and New York. Most small towns didn't have this problem and bullies only stuck to name calling, at worst. Hollywood just glorified bullying for as a godawful cliche sterotype. Even in actual good films like Back To The Future and The Karate Kid, where it wasn't nearly as bad, compared to other films. At least its better than almost all of the Halloween sequels after 4. Yep! Is he the director? Who's JakeG? This was still a pretty bad episode! Even Hey Arnold did the exact same thing! While bullies IRL don't always get punished, They don't become permanent "Karma Houdinis". Why would God allow them to be cruel bastards and constantly get away with inflicting physical pain on others and live their entire lives escaping punishment, only for them to die? That's not how life works, nor does it mean the good people always get rewarded for helping others. Being PC has helped us escape bad writing decisions, such as the bully/bullies becoming "Karma Houdins" after beating up someone. It doesn't always 100% happen, but we have a better track record nowadays than we did back in the days before social media existed. Now, I wasn't expecting an ending where Wayne beats the shit out of the bully for attacking his younger brother, but an ending where the bully got expelled would've been at least "acceptable" enough. To the bully, that would hardly even feel like a punishment; but to Kevin, that at least would've been justice. Not only for him, but for Winnie as well. So everyone would've won! The writers didn't even try! That was just pathetic and Carol and Neal should be ashamed of themselves for writing that shitty ending!
