well that's because most these projects are actually not helmed by one person only. you can have many key people but they do their work out of passion in the background then either get fired/cut or leave for better pastures due to ambitions.
Spielberg was known to have his own little crew and took them to whatever project he was making.
technically that's incorrect and this ties in to how Fallout 1/2 handled difficulty scaling. you can, if you want, meet super mutants right away, but you will get ganked.

In either case, there was a conflict with a foreign territory, but I don't feel like rewatching the show. Maybe someone will do a video with any retcons, if there are any at all.

well they retconned already the original setup. I have no idea why they would walk it back in season 2 now. Especially since they want to sell it in that territory too and I don't know how sensitive they are being the enemy.
So given that and there are more things, it really is just Fallout in name.
OP here. so surprisingly I watched the entire thing. I don't think this would've worked with a male lead. You had two or three somewhat dimwits male in that show. Her raider future husband, all looks no brains (potential lead for a male dweller); her brother, brain but.. well you know; and her brother's bestie, the tall dummy.
In either case, the last scene with the ghoul and Goosy made me realize this needed to be a woman otherwise this would've had a different tone. Well, the closest to it would probably be Luke Skywalker.
