And unfortunately, they cancelled this show while we still have Doctor Whoke around :-(
This was the English version, less 'Hollywood'. To be honest, I didn't remember Uma Thurman was there. It was Patrick Bergin the one that stole the show.
For what matters, if you haven't watched it, give it a try. It was a bit low budget, and you notice it during the action scenes. But it's a very enjoyable version. The iMDB score doesn't do it justice.
Robin Hood (1991)
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
And The Devil's Pass. It's only a found footage horror movie, but it's my favorite found footage horror movie.
1. Little Children (2006) - The pool clears leaving Jackie Earle Haley alone in the center
2. Caddyshack (1980) - "Doody!"
3. National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) - Christie Brinkley
4. Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) - Phoebe Cates
5. Piranha (1978) - No Trespassing
6. The Sandlot (1993) - Squints and Wendy Peffercorn
7. Saved! (2004) - Underwater confessions
8. Let The Right One In (2008)
9. It Follows (2014)
10. The Swimmer (1968)
11. The Magic Christian (1969)
12. Cat People (1942)
It's a virus-baby! incel-virus! coronazi!
I don't.
Making an entertaining movie is not that easy. And I mean '<i>entertaining</i>', not '<i>more entertaining that looking at the wall</i>'
How many movies last year can be said that are as entertaining as Deep Blue Sea? Perhaps John Wick 3, or Toy Story 4, and perhaps a couple more. Not many.
Renny Harlin made Cliffhanger and Deep Blue Sea too.
During a short theater course in the university, the teacher said something I still remember: "what makes a character interesting are his contradictions".
Harrison Ford became a star because he was extremely good at making his characters tough and vulnerable at the same time. That seems contradictory, but that what made them so interesting. Something similar happens with HQ: she's independent... and extremely dependent at the same time. She's fun and cute... and toxic and sociopathic at the same time. If you take away her dependency, she just becomes another '<i>oh, I'm a veeery baaad girl</i>' character. And there's already plenty of them, you have them a dime a dozen.
???
Are you saying that the fights scene in the movie is an "exaggeration" of this?
<i>LeBell told Calhoun he was told by stunt coordinator Bennie Dobbins to put Lee “in a headlock or something” – so he grabbed Lee when he got to set. “He started making all those noises that he became famous for,” LeBell told Calhoun. “But he didn’t try to counter me, so I think he was more surprised than anything else.” LeBell said he put Lee on his back in a fireman’s carry and ran around the set, with Lee supposedly shouting “put me down or I’ll kill you!”. “I can’t put you down or you’ll kill me,” LeBell said was his response, before he finally gave in, adding “Hey, Bruce, don’t kill me. Just kidding champ.</i>”
Nope.
That doesn't mean that Lee was always easy going. He was a Man With a Vision, often obsessive about his work and sometimes a bit arrogant. Those people are not always easy, less as work colleagues. Think Steve Jobs. But his vision was very real, he wanted to change action cinema, and he actually changed it.
The fight in the movie is based in a fight between Lee and Gene LeBell. Here you have the story told by LeBell himself

Laura Dern is Admiral Purple Hair in Star Wars and has been part of Little Women. She's actively participating in woke movies. She's rightfully rewarded.
I suppose you're not trying to suggest that acting capability should have some relation with the Oscars, aren't you?
Let's change 'Wokeness' for 'Christianism'. It fits incredible well. After all, Wokeness is the new Christianism. And Hollywood wants to be the new Vatican.
<i>Good, good. Let the butthurt flow. CLEARLY you ain’t the only one that has been offended by good ol’ Vatican.
Agenda-driven Atheists and so-called apolitical folks that love to hate-watch the Christian Festivities knowing full they’re going to get triggered throughout... priceless! It’s been like this for years, and it’s thankfully going to be that like that for years to come. News flash: The Vatican, as imperfect as it may be, is moving into the future and luckily it won’t regress and shut up just to keep the Christian-obsessed reich that screams agenda (while they themselves approve of the propaganda that comes from the 45 regime) happy.
My man Benedict II and all the other talent that triggered many like you laid down some facts tonight! How dare these people use their platform to speak truth to power instead of sounding like Atheist trolls who preach sin, hate, and deny science! (Why, why aren’t truly hate-filled 45 lovers like your Richard Dawkins not the majority in the town that is thank goodness the complete opposite of any town?! WHY?!?!.) Out of touch these celebs are? So says the crowd that worships billionaire demagogues. Ya miss them good ol’ days of Paganism, huh? Those days... are luckily gone. Finished!
And the reich, I’m proud to say, doesn’t speak for every movie goer and viewer that supports big bad modern Vatican. Needless to say, no one but mostly the backwards reich has any reason to feel salty over what these meanie political actors have to say. Don’t like it? Don’t watch. It’s so simple, but I know... the likes of you need to vent. In closing, the majority of movie audiences who are all for representation and standing up for what’s right> the anti-Vatican regressives who want to cancel an industry that no longer caters to them like before.</i>
Fried, with lots of garlic.
I seriously think that it took them almost a year to announce officially they were working in a sequel of the allegedly most profitable movie of the franchise. And I think that because those are the facts.
And I think that's really odd and unlikely... if that movie was really such a success.
You missed the mainstream analysis made by modern quality journalism: "<i>man-babies! white supremacists! incels! nazis! Hitler!!</i>"
Nope. They put some writer to write a script, that's all. There's no date, no cast, no director. Nothing but a guy writing a script, just in case. The movie is not confirmed.
That, one year after the (allegedly) most profitable movie of the franchise.
To compare, with Guardians of the Galaxy (much less profitable than Captain Marvel IF the Captain Marvel numbers were legit), it took 24H to announce the sequel. To compare with DC: with Joker, the sequel was announced a few weeks after the movie release, and both Todd Phillips and Phoenix are confirmed.
It's not only the empty theaters in Captain Marvel, or the exact repetitive pattern in seat buying (like a bot buying the exact same seats over and over in different sessions). Mostly, the problem is that the reaction doesn't correspond with the movie being a success. And it happened something similar with Black Panther, the other (allegedly) great success in the franchise... that took almost two years to confirm the sequel.
Captain Marvel was allegedly the most profitable in the Marvel franchise.
If that was true and there were no tricks... where's the sequel? Are you telling me that being the (allegedly) most profitable movie in the franchise, they're not interested in making more money?

<i>WB's Birds of Prey is flying much lower than expected, bringing in an estimated $13 million (including $4 million from previews) on Friday with expectations for a debut around $32-33 million. The performance is far lower than all expectations, including WB's $45 million pre-weekend figure. </i>
The usual estimation was about $50-60m for the OW. It's gonna be about half of it. That's a big flop.
<b>PS</b> It's not that clear that Captain Marvel succeeded. It's possible and even probable that Disney decided to self-buy tickets to promote the narrative. WB doesn't have as much money as Disney, though.
