They don't get even simple points because they are idiots,I agree. When they were talking about hunting near the beginning Michael says he has preference for killing deer with a humane "one shot".After the war he even goes back & spends alot of money to save & bring his friend home(idiots don't grasp nobility & friendship). At the roulette table while trying to get Nicky to remember the past he mentions "one shot" & smiles thinking he got through to drug-addled Nicky. The unsettling irony is that Nicky took the one shot reference not to their hunting days---but in the context of Russian roulette---then pushes Michael's hand away and shoots HIMSELF---with one shot. That is great tragedy in the tradition of Shakespeare, etc & cannot be appreciated by "idiots". Great movie & obviously many viewers agree( it has a 8.1 rating as I write).
I agree. She's just a whining,too-much-time-on-her-hands bitch, while her husband works his ass off in a grisly career.
That was the only thing left that Anna could do(whisper something disappointing)-----to get revenge. The surprise suicide is all the more striking because Anna is so weak and powerless beforehand. All she had to do was utter the right words (the exact words really don't matter) & she destroyed Madamoiselle. Madamoiselle said "keep doubting" because she didn't want to discourage Etiene from further pursuit of this knowledge---because he then might kill himself too, ending the "research".Unfortunately this would result in more abduction and torture but the point of the film is that Anna got revenge on Madamoiselle, one-on-one revenge, but revenge all the same.
Elaine looks more like Pacino than the Soup Nazi does.
Funny.
What about Ooh Ah?
You heard incorrectly. Before he was shot he said"Pooh".
I thought she was attractively feminine.
I thought it was two movies in one.The first part was a suspenseful,psychological thriller.The second part was a cheap,special effect-laden,girl/hero, throw-it-in-what-the-hell piece of crap.Disappointing.
And she has a choice to go north to a "safe zone" or west to Houston to fight aliens. The only reason she went outside was to avoid getting doused in acid by Goodman.Yeah right, she's gonna go fight aliens! She could've broken a fingernail. You go girl!
American movies are so bad these days that sometime (nice breasts) are the only reason I watch one.Technically that would be two reasons.
SPOILER I thought the twist was when she confessed that she killed the murderer long ago. Then,it's revealed that she actually had him behind bars for years seeking a more lengthy punishment. I never saw any other version, book or film and therefore was surprised and and totally satisfied at the end.
Agreed.Period.
What is &?
Hello,I noticed you write "&". What is &? Just curious.Thanks.
I thought something like that but couldn't articulate it.Thanks.
Josh didn't need the "uncle's" genes to be diseased. The uncle said it ran in their family,so the mothers' genes were adequate for Josh to be affected.Sam Rockwell could've truly been the bio-Dad and Mom the carrier.
One's things for sure--that he was one screwed up kid.Maybe the uncle was diseased like his sis (the mother) Being siblings that would be likely. The uncle, never having kids---wanted Josh. The uncle was present a large amount of time in their lives, even when you consider they are related.
The movie was creepy but it left out TOO MUCH---and so the audience is left with TOO MUCH---interpretation.
Don't you know that women can do anything a man can do simply because they think they can?
I'll recharge her battery and I have just the plug to do it. Sorry,I couldn't resist.
I don't think you can tell it's Rocky in the opening scene. When I DID see him drag Rocky toward the end,I automatically thought the woman in the beginning must have been the woman he held captive to have his baby.
