I am going to disagree a little with your first one, only because it made it into mainstream news, and TLJ fell below expectations during its run as its opening and performance of the prior two indicated a higher gross than it ended up with. I don't know how much it effected it but I think the films quality in general disappointed some of the general audience as well. You don't have to be a SW fan to see the issue between this film and the film it directly follows, after all why would anyone watch TLJ if they havn't seen TFA? Your welcome, I am glad I could help. Take a look at this page it mentions the myfirsttab thing, see it it helps though it relates to firefox. You can fix a lot of things but depending on the laptop that may not be worth the time, research or cost. Its a good question, I am not sure why they would release so soon after the prior Star Wars film had so much negativity attached to it and this film had a lot of issues during production. It would have been better to put more distance between both those things. Even so 700-800 still would not have been great, but at least they may have not lost money. I do wonder if the international would have been much better though. China is checking out on Star Wars it seems and that is a huge part of large International BO. Ant Man I thought for sure would be MCU's first true flop. I mean who gives a crap about Ant-Man? But it worked out great, Paul Rudd really made this character work, good entertaining/funny story and this features amazing deaging work on Douglas. So I am looking forward to this sequel. Well, that's worse than Box Office Mojo was originally thinking which was in low 30s I believe. Take a look at this and see if any match: https://www.themoviedb.org/keyword/7638-surrogate-mother/movie?language=en Most of them are very cheap and for whatever reason enough people watch them to keep them very profitable compared to the high cost of scripted TV. Is it funny in a MST3K kind of way or stupid in a reality TV sort of way? I think the Foxx casting was the last nail in the coffin for my excitement for the project. I am not thrilled with the concept they are working on, given the character that budget is a massive concern too. I agree, White wasn't the problem with the first film. Though if they were going to recast why not go younger, other than being a recognized name Foxx brings very little to the part. When i was a teenager no I did not eat breakfast, but as I got older I usually eat something even if its just a little thing of yogurt. I am not sure how much can really be done. Jim and mods are the ones that have to make the changes that will do the most good. All we can do is do our best not to get sucked into those threads, I have made an effort myself not to post. I have caught myself once or twice typing a post in a political thread and then not posting it because no good will come of it. around the time of Real World is probably it, maybe a little before..as the videos fell off and the crap shows took their place. But its pretty much the same for most cable channels that survive their first years, they evolve for better or worse over time. I never turn on MTV now. I am very familiar with the EU which is why I referenced it. Star Wars is a sea compared to Marvel's Ocean. The movie characters of SW are far and away better known and feature prominently in the EU materials, so a huge % of the material outside of the movies is dominated by those same characters. You do have games, books and a cartoon that focus on other characters but they do not have the same impact level and certainly less known than most prominent comic characters. There is material, but the way Star Wars does it stuff is they rely more on the movies to lead, where as Marvel being blessed with massive cast of known characters it can pick and chose from existing material and tweak for cinema audience. It simply is in a better position to release at a quicker level without the fear of traditional fatigue. So this sofia is seriously a sock of croft......... Marvel comics have been putting out material for far longer then SW has even existed, there are more books about individual characters than SW will likely ever have. It has a base to draw from that is considerably larger, and these characters have so much more depth because many have had decades of stories behind them. Even if you were to put all the lead characters from all the canon SW together it is a group that would pale in comparison, even if you were to include characters from the superior crop of EU books that were wiped out by Disney you would still be looking uphill at Marvel and its cast of characters and backgrounds. Star Wars best and most popular characters are still those created in the OT 40 years ago. I agree that Star Wars is a massive universe you can create in, however that is no comparison to a universe that is already packed full of lead characters and stories like Marvel. Yeah sometimes I give it a breather here and there. I am not someone who ignores people typically so I see a lot of the garbage post. Unfortunately moviechat has not made it a priority to rein in the political stuff and it bleeds over on other boards. Hope you stick around, need more like you not less. One could argue that Marvel has a far larger universe to work with, with a far larger cast of characters people know and care about. So they can get away with more releases. I think SW would be more prone to this fatigue than Marvel would be. But I do agree that fatigue is a minority issue and being used more to hide the larger warts with the franchise.
