Colony was probably too grounded for some people's taste. They probably was expecting something like Falling Skies. Something Colony never promised in the first place. it's a sci-Fi thriller, with political intrigue. Not a post apocalyptic war show like War of The Worlds tv show (deep cut I know lol)

Nope that's nowhere near middle class anything. They barely qualify even as "upper" middle class. Even in the 80's they were likely above upper middle class. I get what the show was going for in terms of class, but the creators/writers was very loose with what's considered middle class, or even upper middle class.
Action Comedies are fine if they're done like action comedies. Marvel likes to make their movies closer to live action cartoons rather than faithful tonal adaptations.
For me personally i think it's kinda lazy. But I was genuinely surprised by Black Panther which went out of it's way to avoid all of the cheesy witticisms. And ended up a stronger movie with deep nuanced moral dilemmas.
In my opinion, I think Marvel is being misblamed. I think this is something Disney is enforcing.

The finale of season 2. Great epic zombie siege action. And a great shout out to all the cool zombie siege stories like the original Night of The Living Dead. Even the Tom Savini remake.
I think the problem is that the media is propping up plain janes and girl next door types because of political correctness. If they're great actors, then so be it they're great actors. But just because they're great actors you can't just shoehorn them into the sexiest person alive category. For example Kelly Marie Tran is adorable, but definitely not attractive, Ryan Gosling is a great actor, but again not attractive..he's not really ugly either though. I think the pendulum is swinging away from grizzled handsome guys, and gorgeous conventionally beautiful actresses for better or worse.
The problem is that the upcoming arc with the whisperers is stuff that people are complaining about with Negan already. If they're bored with human conflict they're going to hate The Whisperer's arc
The new trilogy is just a thinly veiled rehash. I loved Rogue One, even though it had tons of interference cause Disney didn't want it to be a war movie. I think people like it best when the good guys are outmatched in fictional war movies for some reason. I think The remnant storyline would have been a fresher idea...But fuck originality because Status Quo is GAWD!!

Also if they did vote Obama initially and changed all that means is, In other words, in 2008 they did the right thing by voting for somebody who promised to bring a greater sense of equality. And then when that rise in equality meant a decline in the opportunities they'd been handed for a lifetime, they realized maybe equality isn't so great after all. It happens every time there is an outpouring of empathy from White liberals. Doing the right thing is great until you realize it's gonna make you lose some stuff you never should've had in the first place.
Conservatives just like to compartmentalize their enemies into a "liberal box". But it doesn't make them liberal though. And you still overlook the fact Obama had some of the most ruthless foreign policy of ANY "liberal" politician.
