I read a review of "I, Tonya". It seems like a rather awful film, that kind of glorifies Tonya Harding, and the horrific incident that resulted in a potentially crippling physical injury to a rival competitor. If I were the real-life Tonya Harding, I'd be so ashamed of myself for not only having been involved in the masterminding and planning of the attack on Nancy Kerrigan (something Tonya still denies to this day.) (Not that Nancy Kerrigan's exactly a sweetheart, either.), but knowingly obstructed the investigation and prosecution of Gillhooly and his henchmen, that I wouldn't want anybody making a movie out of my story. I saw the trailer online, and the whole thing sounds disgusting.
Frankly, I'm inclined to think that one of the reasons that imdb.com shut down its message boards was because far too much "flaming" was going on. The fact that there were no moderators on those boards helped bring that situation on.
The trouble is, however, that when people with strong grievances/grudges blow themselves up, they often take innocent people with them, which isn't a good thing, either.
Ah. Okay. I've never heard of that Cinderella Sequel. Thanks for the heads up.
What third movie? I'm just curious.
That's why the name Lucifer suits the cat; he's a meanie and a bully towards Cinderella.
The "hitman" that the Queen hired to kill Snow White was a Huntsman, not a hitman.
Lady Tremaine was a villain who treated Cinderella like trash, as did her stepsisters, but at least she didn't try to kill her, as the wicked queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfts did to Snow White.
What you're saying is true enough, LetThemEatCake. Hollywood has so run out of creative ideas that most everything they're putting out these days looks cheap, ugly, and tacky.
I think this film is not going to go over very well.
I hate to say this, but the film "I, Tonya" is one movie that I'm going to put on my "don't see" list, because I feel that Tonya Harding, as a person in real life, is not very smart, plus she is also nasty, arrogant, a consummate liar, plus she never admits when she's in the wrong. It's bad enough that she was involved in the master-minding and planning of an incident that resulted in the potentially crippling physical injury to and forcible removal of a rival competitor (Nancy Kerrigan) from competition, and still continues to deny her involvement in this whole sordid incident, even today. The fact that Tony knowingly obstructed the investigation and prosecution of Jeff Gillooly and his goons caused her to lose her skating career for good, and well it should have. No matter what Tonya's reason for doing this latter thing, even if she made that deal in order to avoid a jail sentence, obstructing the investigation and prosecution of Jeff Gillooly and his goons was still a crime, which she payed for with the loss of a very promising figure skating career.
It's too bad, in a way, because Tonya Harding was an exceptionally talented figure skater, but, if one is going to play the asshole, they're going to pay, sooner or later.
Having gone through some difficulties in my past that I won't disclose here on moviechat.org, a woman with a difficult past and severe health problems such as Tonya Harding's would ordinarily earn my respect and admiration. Given the fact that Tonya was involved in an incident that resulted in physical injury to a rival competitor, and the fact that she knowingly obstructed the investigation and prosecution of Jeff Gillooly (her ex-husband), however, I felt, and still feel that I cannot muster any sympathy and support for her, in good conscience.
I'll also add, however, that the fact that Tonya also made a totally unprovoked attack on her (now-ex) boyfriend with a hubcap, seriously injuring him, and therefore bringing a police warrant down on her own head also contributed to the permanent loss of her promising skating career.
Apology accepted, ShogunofYonkers. Thanks.
Same here, modica. I also like the Pre-Rumble Quintet, as well as the Rumble itself.
I like pretty much any cut of steak, on the rare side, and smothered in both onions and mushrooms. A baked potato with butter and/or sour cream on it served alongside the steak, along with a green vegetable such as broccoli or whatever, or even a salad, is cool for me.
Hey...wait a minute! What's going on here?
I liked Spiderman I and Spiderman II. I never did get to see the Spiderman Homecoming, however.

While you've made some good, legitimate and sensible points, brux, Reagan's dysfunctional nonsense started even before Reagan came into power. This dysfunctionality that you're referring to began in the late 1960's, when Richard Nixon was elected POTUS and took office. It continued under Carter, began to really snowball under Reagan, continued to snowball under Bill Clinton, both of the Bushes, continued under Obama, and is continuing today, and worsening, under Donald Trump.
That's very true, leader-7. Calling somebody a w*p is like calling somebody the N-word. Both of these particular terms (as do all racial-ethnic epithets), have an equally nasty sound to them, and they both look rather nasty on paper, to boot.
You mean native-born (United States-born) European-Americans.
None of the Jets or the Sharks were innocent, as they were tough, they had switchblade knives and also used fisticuffs, but today's gangs are even more ruthless, especially because guns are the weapons of choice nowadays.
I don't think that anything could or would beat the original film of West Side Story.
