Gee, it's almost like Disney doesn't pay critics off and the very idea is just a paranoid fantasy dreamed up by small minded lunatics.
Agree with them or not, at least the critics saw the movie before rating it.

You're dealing with people who believe that any critic that they disagree with was paid to do so. They are textbook narcissists and there's no hope for them.

But then it's impossible to reason with them. If they were capable of seeing reason, they wouldn't be conspiracy theorists, by definition.

How is it at all fair to rate a film that you have never seen?
If you rate a film without seeing it, especially rating it in one extreme or the other, that is a fake rating.
Oh fuck off. The only ones faking scores are the idiots spamming 1 and 10 ratings without even seeing the film.

Yet another bogus conspiracy theory. The critical rating for A Wrinkle in Time alone proves this one false.

Neither do I. In reality it was probably far more than that.
Right, and that method of tracking bots is what leads to bogus scores being thrown out.
The score was certainly manipulated, but not by studios. Of course now that attempts to manipulate it further have been stalled, new conspiracy theories are being created to pretend the score should be even lower.
Personally I think user scores should only be registered after the user has taken a 50 point quiz on the film to prove that they actually saw the movie in question. I might not always agree with the critics but at least you can count on them having actually seen the movies they're rating.
If ratings were being thrown out it's because people were using bots to create numerous accounts to flood the rating system. RT even said this was happening and they put a stop to it.
The only ones manipulating information are the trolls and butthurt fanboys. It's the main reason user reviews on any site are less than useless.
Right? You'd have to be among the "lowest common denominator of cinema fans" to not be able to see the difference between Transformers and even the weakest entry in the MCU.
The more Disney retcons the prequel trilogy, the better.
