IMHO, the problem is that they just don't get that Batman and Superman are totally different types of characters that really should never co-exist outside of comics (and even there, it's dicey). Batman should always be in the grim variation of the real world that Burton and Nolan gave us. Exaggerated but not fantastical. Superman (and Wonder Woman and Aquaman and The Flash) should ONLY exist in the fantastical version of our world where you can look at these god-like beings and not be pulled out of it. It's like our world is the center of the scale and Batman (or crimefighters) should be on one end and Superman (or superheroes) should be on the other. To parallel this with Marvel, while I sincerely hope they get the FF back from Fox, they should never try and get the X-Men back. What makes X-Men work just doesn't make sense in a world where they co-exist with the Hulk and Thor and all that. Keep them separate. If there's no difference between Marvel and DC films in terms of quality, why is it movies with two of THE most iconic heroes in existence can't be the hits movies starring B and C list Marvel characters are? WB is doing a dis-service to great concepts and characters with a misguided direction and half hearted direction. I remember Snyder talking about the deconstruction of heroes being his goal and thinking "that would work for Justice League 3, but you need to CONSTRUCT them before you DE construct them.". You don't like Marvel and that's fine but the evidence shows that your bias is clouding your judgement. I'll be honest...I'm too OCD to not buy it or get it as a gift. In your opinion. I’d put Thor 2, iron man 3 and Age of Ultron on that list before TFA I like the cut of your jib, kid. The dance off in GotG certainly trumped the dance number in Suicide Squad. Oh, that’s right...zealots forget that scene. Wait...TFA was awful? A pox on you! Or “no one ever dies in the MCU!” (Welcome back Superman!) or “Whedon is too kiddie for DC” (didn’t see THAT one coming did you zealots?)... Plus, thanks to Wonder Woman it doesn’t even need to be Marvel vs DC. Now it’s “just stop sucking. Wonder Woman showed it’s not the characters!” It's why I was nominated "Most Likely to make an apt analogy" in high school. It's a Thor movie....I'm amazed it's as popular as it IS. I mean....Thor. I was going to bring up the Coco and the Dickens movies coming out and Gary Oldman playing Churchill....AND the good word of mouth that The Wonder is getting ...there's no assurance of ANYTHING. But, then I see that all the OP wants to do is play "whataboutism" by talking about Thor 3 (because the third movie about Thor is comparable to what should have been DC's Avengers) to make himself feel better about what a plop JL has made....well, common sense will be wasted on the fanboy. Who knew Roy Moore posted here? If true....this may be the most faithful adaptation of the source material EVER. Because, sorry.....it was that way for DECADES in the JLoA. This is actually an incorrect analogy. If I ask 100 people for 1 dollar each and get 65 and you go to 200 people and ask for a dollar each and get 75 dollars....you have more money, but I was more successful. I see you're one of those people that thinks theater chains are charities that never want any money for the movies they show. THAT'S why it's traditionally been a benchmark to make at LEAST double the budget. So, wait....you're saying that the opening of THE DC super team in their premiere outing, introducing Aquaman, Cyborg and Flash properly and resurrecting Superman....opening in twice as many markets as the THIRD Thor ( the weakest performing of the Marvel solo Avengers) and making a somewhat more is a good thing? Given the number of moments, the iconic characters and the concept....this should've BURIED the competition, shouldn't it?
I wish we had TJ and Midas--then it would feel almost exactly like IMDB again.
Ala kazam! Your wish has been granted (really should've wished for that ScarJo Gal Gadot 3some, dude...)! I have not seen JL yet (hell I just saw Ragnarok this weekend) but I'm not pleased with what I'm seeing in reviews. I mean, it's not DC...Wonder Woman proves that (now THAT was a great superhero movie)....it's just that following Snyders' vision is a recipe for audience ambivalence.
