(I don't care if I'm replying to a 5 month post.) QueenfanUSA would certainly have a heart attack over that moment. Too bad that troll isn’t around on Moviechat to aggressively post essays everywhere about this movie's performance. 😂 You said it! Well, I saw something-- according to this link at least--that we might be expecting one tuesday.... but well see. I'm growing a bit impatient too by now since two weeks.
So... That's great. Have you also seen Red Dawn? It's the first movie to earn a PG-13. How about Baby Boom, starring Diane Keaton? The Color Purple Dead Poets Society Exactly. Watson was alright in that role. She certainly nails the characterization of Belle. I just kind of imagine how other actresses would've been more suited for that role in her place. Like Samantha Barks or Anne Hathaway (even though the latter is a bit too old). I also liked how LeFou was given more dimensions in this version too. Including a conscious about Maurice's well-being and redemption. Although I don't really get the big hoopla that Disney had to make about his character being gay.
LeFou is just briefly seen dancing with another man in the end from switching dance partners.
Had the press not mention anything, no one would've thought twice about his character or that moment at all. People just like to see nostalgia come to life. From a technical achievement, this movie is mostly well made. The performances are alright and the movie was just serviceable IMO. Of course, the original animated movie still hold up better by comparison. As a millennial myself, I could safely say that we 20 and 30 something year olds (as of 2017) could actually give two shits over this thing. Well, unless some got desperately dragged in by their children as a way to keep them quiet (seeing how this still makes money anyhow). We're not all that obsessed with using emojis too much like teens, unless teens are what you really trying to refer there. In that case, they're the centennial/homeland generation-- not millennials. I liked those two movies. I also kind of found it a bit insulting how Sony is using that tactic to get audience to watch Emoji too. But not exactly for the same reasons you just mentioned though. Popeye is apparently still in production with a new writer. It's just that Tartakovsky is off the project to direct it. The greenlighting of Emoji Movie was a completely separate event from Popeye. Yep. I saw a funny one while ago that literally quote Jackfilms' review verbatim. Others mock reviews and commentaries, on the negative side, acted like this movie is the next worst thing to death. I'm like: Calm down, internet... It's just a flimsy crappy corporate movie. A crappy corporate movie that will probably serve as an epitome for Hollywood's lack of creativity, where time will just move on from this anyways, sure... but no need to 'weep for humanity', or drive yourself suicidal, or whatever through your hyperbolic reviews. There's a lot of worst problems out there in the real world to worry about than over a pointless movie. But whatever. I'm just saying. It at least appears to be doing okay with critics. Likely won't become a financial hit in the US considering its competition. Internationally? Maybe. I've also heard the film won't have too much dialogue involved either. Kind of like in Mad Max: Fury Road? Please... No. Don't. If only like buttons are available for these boards...
