Not sure 100% what question you are asking but it's likely that the nanny that her brother paid for was real, but was so inconsequential to Marlo's struggles, that she didn't make a dent in her daily routine. Therefore we don't see her. Maybe she even looked like McKenzie Davis (a young Marlo) - which is what triggered the whole episode in the first place.
Tully wasn't the name of the new nanny. Tully was Marlo's maiden name, as is revealed in the hospital.
As for the waitress - Marlo found her old costume (or more likely the new nanny found it) and dressed up for her husband.
Really, really good film
Absolutely. Really great way of putting it ^. I thought it was a terrific take on the pressures of motherhood and a barnstorming performance from Charlize Theron.
Genuinely laughed at that.
Thanks.
Yeah it's great. If you like Frantz, you may also like 'Phoenix'. Which is a German film made in 2014. Some similar themes.
small screen or big screen, there's no excuse for such poor dialogue. If I was shown this film and moon I would argue strongly that there is simply no way the same person has Directed the 2 films.
It would have been a good ending. But we need to see where Genny heads next.
I like low budget sci fi. I like all Nic Winding Refn.
I hated Mute. It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen given my expectation levels.
A disaster.
Yeah, amazing show - I'm only through 5 episodes and am absolutely loving it. As well as being damn good, it's also one of the most gorgeous looking tv programmes I've ever seen.
Right up there with Gomorrah and Mr. Robot as 2017s best.
It was quite good. But quite a convoluted plot. Great 3rd act though.
I'd say:
'The Killing of a Scared Deer'
It's one of the most overrated movies of recent years. I get the feeling some viewers were keen to say they loved it, so as to be seen to being clued up on the race debate in modern day america. It's still a silly 'date horror' movie. It wasn't awful, I'm glad I watched it, but it's way, way too highly rated. E.g: At the time of writing, it is rated 7.8 on IMDB, when an amazing movie like 'Primer' is rated just 6.9
Me too. Krisha was extraordinary. I'm sure he's shown enough talent to be on the right track.
I think it's likely that Travis was infected all along. Therefore any interaction / paranoia / worry and anguish that the family had, plus the unneccesary killing of anyone else was actually all in vain. 'We're all going to die some day' basically.
I'm pretty sure that in the final scene, Joel Edgerton's eyes are black, instead of the bright blue we've seen them all movie.
Very good movie
Yes, good post. The film is divisive because it was sold as a straight up horror. It is not.
I'm still thinking about the various explanations now and I saw it 3 months ago. Very good film that gets inside your head.
It really tickles me that you say "If it's an honest review....."
Like the possibility of someone, anyone, anywhere in the world actually enjoying a movie that YOU don't like, is so remote. that the chances of a human being writing an actual positive review on it are minuscule.
Funny stuff.
So you don't want to provoke or belittle anyone, but you say you "can't understand how a fellow human being could take anything positive away from this movie" and you "truly fear for the future of Cinema if there are people in this world that can honestly hand on heart declare that in their opinion "It comes at Night" is a "Fantastic" film."
If you truly despair that someone liked a film you didn't, then I'm fairly sure you need to seek some advice for your despair, as it's only a difference of opinion. It's just a film you didn't like. The "future of cinema" as you put it, doesn't hinge on whether I should re-evaluate my assessment of this film because a chap called Pooterman on an internet chat forum says it's not very good.
Fortunately, other people can also see how good it was, as illustrated below.
I'm pretty sure we watched the same film. I never said its' brilliance lay in its' originality. There are barely any original films made these days. It Comes at Night was a very good at what it tried to do. You didn't like it. Fair enough. But your attempts to provoke and belittle by asking if I'm associated with the film just paint a picture of someone who doesn't understand the movie. No I'm not associated with the film, I just enjoyed it very much. The Thing is also fantastic by the way. That fact has no bearing on how good It Comes at Night is though.
How depressing. Thankfully we have books and internet sites to enable us to read about them and then buy/rent them on Blu-Ray.
Absolutely.
People don't suddenly go from appreciating movies like this to apathy. Maybe the release and distribution of this film just wasn't right.
It was quite clever how they didn't just drape the sheet over him haphazardly. It was carefully aligned so the eyes expressed certain emotions and angles to give us a sort of sub conscious attitude towards the ghost.
I'm 100% certain people will say this is pretentious garbage (both the movie and this post) but I'm 100% that I don't care. Great movie.
