Very good list. Don't know what kind of algorithm is behind the "similar movie" list on the website, however! Die Hard??? This film was indeed excellent, so glad I discovered it. It was very well written and well acted. Should have an extra .5 in rating at least! I wondered about this also. Those Germans were pretty brave to approach (if there were just two of them)! I agree! Watched it once for the same reason, won't be watching it again. I never suspected it, but I had hoped that their ending at Earth might have been contemporary with our time, or perhaps in the near future. When it ended up being the way it was I was so moved. Sounds like a good basis for a new adult-themed super hero cartoon on Adult Swim. (walks away) The film did have a lot of particular styling going on. Life would be boring if everything was the same! This is the scene which which sticks in my mind also. Watching it a second time didn't do much for me, while 2001 is very enjoyable to watch repeated times. As others have stated, it was to make sure the air is okay to breathe. The characters did the same in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I think I'd rather the ship smash into a giant asteroid and everyone has the same fate, than deal with another heart-wrenching twist like this. I think I understand about half of what you're trying to say. Good comment, I love all the films mentioned and they sit proudly on my DVD shelf. :) I think it really depends on the individual when it comes to these two. Terminator 2 and Aliens are very much large-scale action films whereas Alien and Terminator were smaller horror films probably with no original scope for a sequel. I don't think it would have been relevant, as this case would have been just another case in a long line of cases over the years for the team. Was the team the same team, or did the support crew change? I can't remember. If it changed then there's even more reason by the main guy not to bring it up. I have a radio so I could listen to police, fire, ambulance, air traffic control, taxis, public transport, couriers, anything which uses a radio. I got the radio for about $200 from an electronics store back in about 1995 or so. But then Australian police moved to secure-encrypted system and that spoiled a lot of the appeal for me but is understandable as a way to increase security in modern times. It's easier to watch at 2x speed and I agree that it's an epic film which can be watched by probably anyone really, not just someone who enjoys love stories. James Cameron was very clever in making a film like this which appealed to a large audience. That's a good idea. Not sure how they could go about it though. Would be interesting. I have no idea who John Cena is but just the fact that the tables got turned back onto Dusty was a fantastic ending which topped it off nicely. The film itself got a bit silly at times but it was well-made so that young kids could watch it as well as adults. I agree. It was hard to relate to anyone in this film because the female lead was such a loser, and all the guys in this were just morons of different kinds. I know the same could be said of a lot of other films, but there just wasn't anything in it for me to really hold onto.
