It's a pretty good movie. Mythbusters did their thing looking into how they escaped, they even take us into the areas behind the walls and all that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2L6wbVQ4UE One lady I knew went to see it 15 times in the cinema. - Wedlock (also known as Deadlock). - Fortress. I love boobs too but the best part for me is when the ship hits the fan and it all goes down the toilet, slowly. There's no denying Cameron knew how to build up the heat before the ice came. And I gotta say, if you don't shed a tear at the end when Rose dreams about her time back on the boat as the music swells, then you're not human! As a long-time fan since it arrived in the 1980s, I don't understand it either! I guess it came along at the right time when Star Wars had come and gone and other things were being tried. Despite the main character being a: a) brain surgeon b) rock star-musician c) test pilot d) scientist e) advisor to the President f) super-handsome-hero-lover g) leader h) very smart dresser ... we somehow accepted it and it worked for some! Also, undoubtedly, one of the most memorable and coolest things from the movie is the Jet Car, yet it is hardly seen beyond that bizarre opening sequence. I liked it, saw it for the first time this week. The Score also has a good score (instrumental music) too! It didn't have the ensemble of memorable characters like Heat did but is pretty good. I was so waiting for that moment when the real Brian / Jack was revealed to his older janitor buddy. Ahh, I didn't connect the two! Nice pick up. I watched it with the dub on. The voice actors weren't very good. By comparison, the people who dubbed La Palma are on a whole different level. No problems eating, I guess I am de-sensitised to this kinda thing. It is revealed there is some control of gravity available as in Platform 2 they shut off the gravity during the monthly changeover and the workers float around to move everyone, clean up and remove all the corpses. It was much the same but more about 'community' efforts and rules they have established. It introduced some new ideas regarding gangs and the feeling of hopelessness continues, but a bit more gore also. For sure, this is a great sequence (the beating music, the clever angles, the panic, the confusion, the car abuse!). I've seen it mentioned on plenty of car chase lists. Love it. Like Star Wars in 1977, we hit the ground running! I'd say production quality across the Batman films as well as the cast names they were pulling in improved remarkably while the Superman films clearly went downhill. I don't like the Batman films as much as the Superman films, but there's no denying they ended up being the better productions. Yeah, everything seems to 'make no sense' to avortac4. I don't bother even clicking on their posts anymore, they seem like spam or a bot because they appear so often and in batches of 3 to 6 at a time. Maybe if they compile all their thoughts about one movie into one message and post that then we'd be more inclined to click on them. Poor guy. I've kinda been there with Kris Kringle / Secret Santa in the office. I was the only one who didn't get a gift (I gave one). Nobody noticed, everyone just wants to get outta there and back to their desk. The scene added to Milton's long list of abuse by others. I think the last threat he said was, "That was the last straw," when Lumbergh switched off the light on him in the basement. Of those, maybe Fatal Attraction might have been interesting with him as the male lead. I agree, he was fantastic as the villain who went around doing the dirty work. He was in such control of everything until he got beat up by Farrell near the end and his hair got all out of place! I kept expecting Bru to tell Kelloway to cut the small talk and tell them what the heck was going on! Instead we did get a pretty good speech which reflects the reality of the space industry. I watched it over the weekend after not seeing it for many years. Great film and I really wish we got to see what happened when Bru got to the memorial and exposed everything. I also wish I knew what happened to the other astronauts and the controller who suspected about the video signal. I hate to think they were killed. Good pickup on the similarity to Apes... I didn't even think of it but it's so obvious now! Whether intentional or not, it's there. I love Hal Holbrook from Magnum Force also, he is such an asshole! I noticed Jim Sikking (Hunter/Excelsior captain) also, he's just great in everything he does, even though it was a very small role. Love Elliot Gould in most of his work so I knew what to expect. Very talky, very tall, very direct. Perfect for that role. Telly Savalas was a nice surprise. Saw his name in the opening credits and couldn't remember who he played! The aircraft chase sequences were amazing. We had indeed not had much like this until this movie so it is a real treat. The earlier Learjet stuff is pretty good too. The Mustang car crash stuff was just awful - sped-up footage and it looked laughable. Having recently watched The Naked Gun 1 and 2, seeing OJ Simpson again was interesting.
