I purchased and rcvd today the three disc collection starring Jeff Bridges, "Against All Odds/Jagged Edge/Starman (Multi Feature, 3 discs)" One of your favs and one of mine. I also rcvd from Netflix your suggested flick, "Midnight Special". When I will be able to view them is anyone's guess. I've been tied up trying to keep my Brother printer connected to the new Arris dual band router. Worked great with the old router. Now when it goes to sleep the connection is lost, so I have to enter the S.Key each time. Today I have spent 10 hours getting the new phone (rcvd today)up to speed!
I long for the days when we had 3 tv stations (we actually had more and better programming than we do now with all the channels to the nth degree) signal via an outdoor antenna which we had to go outside to turn the mast. "Is it OK now?" "No, still a lot of snow!" "How about now?" "No, you turned it too...wait, you got it! Oh, darn it's all wavy..."
We had landline 📞 phones and communicated by TALKING to the other party...no texts, e-mails, etc. No computers and gaming where our kids disassociated from family and other humans. If we were lucky our kid's noses were buried in textbooks, not mobile phones sending texts! We had one 19" tv in the house (how did we manage to see that thing from across the room?). Today I have seven widescreens. The kids could watch their shows after school (homework finished) up until dinner. After that the kids were the remote controls. Yes, life was simpler and less stressful.
Back I go to the transfer of files from the old to the new phone!

Your OP about the article re:"Master Tom's" eatery having a menu item "Uncle Tom's Burger" warranted serious mention, without your histrionics of course. I, as well as others mainly saw one of your never ending rants about racism which resulted in not so serious replies. But, this post of yours is just plain silly! You should have left well enough alone! This has overshadowed your OP.

When "Master Tom's" eatery and the menu fare "Uncle Tom's Burger" are put together, without the hysteria (hissy fit!), as you succinctly did, Cat, one can see the connotation of how they relate to each other. It gave me pause...

Yes, I realized it was a news article. But, she was on one of her rants! Every other post is about her seeing racism around every corner and in between! I see people on tv who espouse the same attitudes about their nonsensical dogma. I truly believe they are ashamed of being "white" so they overcompensate in an attempt to make amends for the barbaric history blacks had to endure. No one is taking her seriously. She's become a joke! "Would you eat a racist hamburger?"I believe those are her words.

I do hope all is settled with your dad's estate, the house, etc. I've been through it myself...by myself! Not an easy task.
With that said...here goes for all you Catbookss's stalkers and prevaricators....I think Cat would be an excellent Mod. She is aware of how most of us whom have known her for months, would like to see in a good moderator. Even though she and I have had some harsh disagreements in the past, I believe fair is fair. As I've stated previously, she has an uncanny recall ability. She's well aware so many of us detest the lewd language, the vile names and lies targeting certain folks, the stalking, the trolls, etc. Well, that's my input and I'm sticking to it!

The only people who mostly use the term "He's an Uncle Tom" are other blacks (race warlords) when referring to a conservative black.
Cactus, you're really hung up on this race thing, aren't you? So, now there's a "racist hamburger"? If there is we best not "top" it with white mayo! You know, white can't be over black!! LOL!
If you happen to be a caucasian, you must really hate being "white"! BTW, what to do with the "The Uncle Toms" in families? If we went along with your way of thinking, those "Uncle Toms" should have a name change!

I like we can MINUS (edited) single posts only, unless the poster is a complete jerk then I could give a rat's patootie if I never see his/her posts again! Hear that BenCaesar (& your other aliases), and Wilson? I'm sure others will land in the Phantom Zone as the need arises. Profanity should be bleeped when posted and also in the quoted replies.
