The only one I'd love to watch over and over and you don't even have it listed...
1984 Against All Odds
The one I have watched over and over is "Starman" 1984. For some reason it's one of my favs. I suppose since I'm such a romantic, his character's first love scene was special.
shareif you like starman you're gonna love Midnight Special (2016)
shareIs it similar? I hurriedly went to the site, thou shall not name, to read about it. I will attempt to view on Netflix DVD if available.
sharesorry you didn't see it in the cinema like i did
it was magic :)
feels like a movie from the 70s
all the character actors.. Driver Shannon Edgerton
Now I'm definitely interested!!
Edited to state both movies are now in my Netflix DVD queue.
films being what they are nowadays i only go when its not one to miss
i went to the cinema 5 times in 2016
Triple Nine
Batman v Superman
Midnight Special
Suicide Squad
Rogue One
I don't go to the theaters. Too many mobiles, talking, disruptions, kids, etc. I wait for the DVD.
I think the last time was "Man of Steel" Before that was "The Perfect Storm" Going to the matinee is the best time...kids are in school.
I had such a crush on Karen Allen. I swear I saw her onan Amtrak once and she smiled at me.
shareTron is a good one too. The sequel was pretty good. But the original was great!! The first true "CGI" movie, way back in 1982!!
shareFearless 1993 for me. One of my favorite movies and favorite Jeff Bridges performances, and I have already watched it several times.
I've been also meaning to re-watch one of his movies that's not on your list: The Fisher King (1991).
No 'Arlington Road' or 'Hell or High Water'?
shareTucker is such a great movie. I love that Lloyd Bridges is in it and plays a bad guy!
Starman is one of those movies I can watch over and over.
Hell or High Water is going to be a classic.
Big Lebowski is so funny.
The Last Picture Show
There are soooo many! He's a wonderful actor and manages to be in a lot of great movies. He's charming and it comes across. He's definitely one of my favorites.
tucker had a funny development did you read Burt Reynolds biography? LMAO
shareNo I haven't. What happened with Tucker?
sharein 1977 when burt reynolds was the top box office draw francis ford coppolla said he wanted him for the title role in Tucker. He flew to san francisco and over a long dinner they made plans for the film. The next morning francis showed burt seven different endings for apocalypse now and asked which one he liked
a few days later someone called Burt
they were from paramount and said they wanted to make Tucker but not the five other projects francis had pitched them. FFC was using reynolds to bootstrap other films. They never spoke again.
Oh my God! That's a little dirty. Well, I guess that's business! Thanks for the story. I love little tid bits like that. Do you read many biographies? I used to but it seems like I just don't give myself that treat anymore. I think all these instant gratification smart devices are ruining my attention span.

I purchased and rcvd today the three disc collection starring Jeff Bridges, "Against All Odds/Jagged Edge/Starman (Multi Feature, 3 discs)" One of your favs and one of mine. I also rcvd from Netflix your suggested flick, "Midnight Special". When I will be able to view them is anyone's guess. I've been tied up trying to keep my Brother printer connected to the new Arris dual band router. Worked great with the old router. Now when it goes to sleep the connection is lost, so I have to enter the S.Key each time. Today I have spent 10 hours getting the new phone (rcvd today)up to speed!
I long for the days when we had 3 tv stations (we actually had more and better programming than we do now with all the channels to the nth degree) signal via an outdoor antenna which we had to go outside to turn the mast. "Is it OK now?" "No, still a lot of snow!" "How about now?" "No, you turned it too...wait, you got it! Oh, darn it's all wavy..."
We had landline π phones and communicated by TALKING to the other party...no texts, e-mails, etc. No computers and gaming where our kids disassociated from family and other humans. If we were lucky our kid's noses were buried in textbooks, not mobile phones sending texts! We had one 19" tv in the house (how did we manage to see that thing from across the room?). Today I have seven widescreens. The kids could watch their shows after school (homework finished) up until dinner. After that the kids were the remote controls. Yes, life was simpler and less stressful.
Back I go to the transfer of files from the old to the new phone!
I really liked The Contender, where he played the president. It was a serious film but Jeff added some touches that relieved the tension in a few spots. He liked showing off the power of the presidency in little ways to impress people, so one night he calls to the WH kitchen and orders a grilled muenster cheese sandwich. The cook tells him there is no muenster and he gets this funny look and says, "well let's see if we can get in some muenster, we don'tthe wheels coming of the wagon"
Just the way he says it cracks me up.
