Ferrel looks coked up out of his mind, probably mixed with alcohol and who knows what else.

apparently this happened earlier -

The singer's wife explained that he was getting pissed off about the sound mixing - where his voice was drowned out by the sound of the band. Having said that - if that's true, he should have been getting upset at the peeps operating the sound board rather than the band members on stage. Some commentators suggest that this whole thing was staged - I doubt it - the lead is seemingly suffering from dementia (singing in wrong places), but the band music is also overwhelmingly loud -

reply

The sound issues might have set him off, but that looks like coke or amphetamine fueled rage to me. His eyes, the scream, the aggressive posturing.

reply

the scream was him trying to overpower the sound of music - he was already triggered at that point
I'd like to see a recent interview with him to see if it would confirm my dementia theory.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMKOcbKTtV4 Well, here is an interview from this year.

And here is one from 1991 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ2AIInjKzs

reply

Oh, I wasn't suggesting he doesn't have dementia; I think it's very likely he does.

I believe he's in his 60s and has had substance use issues most of his adult life, which makes him a prime candidate for developing dementia.

reply

I dont know much about either of them but the one singing looks like an actual retarded person in all the videos. Considering a different bandmate decided to haymaker him a bunch of times after they split the two up tells me the bands had enough of the singers antics.

reply

I can see signs of dementia - he's got the same look of surprise and anger (that Biden often has) when reminded that he's not supposed to be singing and it's time for a guitar solo. Having said that... the music is too loud - I just looked at the original video of this song and the singer's voice is meant to be heard - so you have 2 issues: one fellow suffering from dementia and an existing trigger which shouldn't be there which leads to this climax. Apparently, the sound mixing has been an issue for a while now. Yet, I also wonder why this outburst is not aimed at the fellows at the sound board - then again, dementia peeps don't always target the right peeps when they get triggered.

reply

Is it possible he is that bad already? That must be a ton of drugs he did.

reply

Without ever seriously listening to any of their stuff, this band reminds me of the bands Johnny Depp and Billy Bob Thornton are in

reply

Perry Farrell is Jane's Addiction. He's the creative innovator. Navarro is a bit of a whore who jumps from band to band. And Red Hot Chili Pepper's were a crap band, kinda pop rock without the pop. I'm Team Farrell.

reply

I can't stand RHCP, but that is mostly because of Kiedis's singing voice. I swear their music would be fine if someone else sang. Don't know anything about Jane's Addiction except that one song (Jane Says), but this Farrell guy sounds like a loon.

reply

Farrell looks old and burned out. But if I have to make a general choice between both guy's work, Farrell wins.
