It's final numbers are $151 million worldwide on a $69 million budget, so yes that is a flop. Not a "monumental" flop but still a flop none the less.
This did a worse opening than I had thought. The movie needs the foreign market to save it or it's over for Luc Besson.
If the remakes are great quality films who cares that they are being remade. It's better than original new films that are terrible.
If these remakes and sequels to classic old films then what's the problem? Sounds like you're hating on something because it's a sequel and you have your mind made up already that you won't like this film.
Animated franchises. Never seen and have no interest in seeing the Despicable Me movies, Cars, Madagascar, How to train your dragon, Kung Fu panda, Rio, Frozen
It flopped because it was rated R. The Rock's fanbase are mostly kids and teens, look at his recent hits, all PG-13.
