I think that really they wanted the movie to be a little bit more exciting and to have a feel good ending compared to the book. Hooper dies in the cage in the book, and Quint isn't chomped in glorious shark out of water fashion, he drowns. The guys on the pier though were baiting the shark, not merely fishing.
Im not sure, but part of that sounds like it could be Pin (1988).
You can find the 1969 short film of The Lottery on YouTube. That's the one I saw in school.
If they can keep it fresh then I have no issue with it. I'm still okay with the David O. Russell, Jennifer Lawerence, Bradley Cooper movies. On the other hand if I hear of a movie with Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, I'll probably avoid it.
I'm not sure where you are getting your statistics, but while domestic violence against men is on the rise, or at least the reporting of it is, women are still over the 50% mark and depending on the country up to 80%.
I really think that this show is done and has been done for while. I will finish the season as I don't like to leave story lines unfinished, but I think I'm done. It's been a great show, but the last few seasons have been mediocre at best.
I understand what is being said. I just think that the way of thinking needs to change. More focus needs to be on the men that rape, not the women who should have been more careful.
Even the tv movies were pretty decent. Now all we seem to get are the cheesy hallmark, lifetime, or syfy movies.
I totally miss Saturday morning cartoons. Along with after school specials.
I'm not sure that it's a cultural thing. I think that it's a "not understanding consent thing." It doesn't matter if you are drunk, or in a rapists hot tub, rape is rape. His attitude that every girl at the school wants to be raped is the problem. Saying that just getting in the hot tub means that it's her fault for getting raped is the problem. Judges that let off people like Brock Turner are the problem. Judges that ask why women can't just keep their legs closed are the problem. Cops who discard statements because of intoxication are the problem. Blaming how someone is dressed is the problem. Not individuals who decide to drink. No consent means no consent.
I'm just curious if you are American?
Healthcare in Canada isn't the same. Most hospitals are non profit and not all procedures are offered at every hospital in a city so you don't always get a choice in where to go. Transplants wouldn't be considered a cash cow.

I think that a lot of American network tv shows fizzle out as they usually don't end until they are way past done. They have soooo many episodes a season as well. I prefer the 6-13 episode per season shows. I also like it when series end on a high note. Yes we will miss them, but can still think of them fondly.
For me some of the worst offenders were CSI, Criminal Minds, Law & Order, ER, Supernatural, and Smallville.
Agreed. After S2E7 it just kinda crashed.
Heroes was the first show I thought of.
I really enjoyed them.
I bought Moonlight and Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children from a second hand store the other day. Both still had their digital copies as well.
I get why streaming is so popular, but I like to actually own things that I pay for. Kind of old school that way. Also not living in the US, it's more difficult to find things to stream legally and we don't get movies in the mail. It can suck when Netflix removes a movie from their library.
The Game is Life Series by Terry Schott
I haven't read book 6 yet, so I might change my mind.
Salvage (2006)
High Tension - despite the fact that it's a total rip off, it was entertaining and certainly WTF.
I understand the frustration with the tease. I agree with you. I'm sure we are in for a lot more of the tease as well. I hope not. I just hope that when we do know the how/why of Jack's death that it isn't the end of the past segments.
