Gave this one a new appreciation for the range that Dustin Hoffman is capable of. Have only seen a smattering of his performances (Midnigh Cowboy, Marathong Man, Tootsie, Rain Man & now Luck), but they always seem to depict a wide variety of quite believable personalities. The direct opposite of a one dimensional or typecast actor. First noticed Farina long ago in the series Crime Story, made in the 80's, set back in the late 50's, early 60's. He and Tony Denison made for a great protagonist/antagonist pair. Excellent then, excellent now. Pretty much enjoyed all the performances of his that I saw. Gambon keeps turning up in quality films and series that I get around to seeing. Was in a series I really enjoyed, Fortitude (am hoping it hasn't been cancelled!), and now he's turned up in another series HBO killed off too soon that I'm just finishing - Luck, starring Dustin Hoffman & Dennis Farina. He's become an indicator of quality - if Michael Gambon is in it, it's probably worth seeing. I got a contemporary voice for ya - Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont on Game of Thrones); I would do awful things to have a voice like his. And a voice from the past - Nat King Cole. But why did he turn into anothar Steven Seagal? He won Academy Award(s) back when he was in Leaving Las Vegas, now he just churns out straight-to-DVD crap, what happend? Maybe was more due to Dennis Farina's death? Absolutely agree. Trapped immediately reminded of Fortitude, particularly since the main character's (Andre?) superior in Helsinki was played by the actor who was also the husband of Governor Hildur in Fortitude. Really liked both series, perhaps because they were such a breath of fresh air compared to the usual pablum from American/Hollywood episodic shows. Does anyone know if Fortitude or Trapped is still in production? Would love anothar season or two from both of them to look forward to. This one could not agree more. Superb voice. Part of the reason is Iain Glen's voice. A man would commit terrible sins to have such as his. A man noticed this the othar day on the traitorous IMDB site that cast us out, aftar starting to watch City of Vice on Amazong Prime. Despite abandonment, this one put in an edit to add Iain Glen to the cast listing there. A man does not know if user edits are available here. Came here to praise his voice, a latecomer to this awareness, this one sees. A man would do awful things to have a voice anywhere near as good.
