Not if Kathleen Kennedy has her way. If the charges were serious, then he'd be investigated and charged by a government agency, not have trumped-up charges (pardon the pun) made by his adversary in a multi-year legal case. Update: More multiple reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Consensus again is it's slow to start, and Glover is good. https://editorial.rottentomatoes.com/article/solo-a-star-wars-story-buzz/ Mark Hamill didn't mention Ewan M. being in the movie. You have to be really ignorant not to know that Trump & cohorts can't match Avenatti's legal skills so they are going to attempt to stop him from practicing law. The bar complaint is recently filed even though the legal battle has been going on for years. Coincidence? I think not. I found a 2013 article stating that Global Baristas, the investment group led by actor Patrick Dempsey, bought Tully's Coffee chain for $9.15 million bid. Dempsey said they would try to save jobs and keep the store independent (Rival bidder was Starbucks). I don't know what an actor and lawyer know about running a coffee house chain, but I'm not surprised that they failed to keep it open. I thought this episode actually had a very strong liberal bent denouncing Islamophobia. I keep wondering if Roseanne herself is a closeted SJW. Dan is a whoosh for not ratting out that employer to the Feds. Different actress though. I wonder why the original actress, Rae'Ven Larrymore Kelly didn't come back for the cameo. Good question. I thought the show started funny, but then stopped. Meanwhile I continued watching and I 'm upset that it's been cancelled. I guess that I still liked the characters, its quirkiness and was curious to know where they were heading with it. Out of respect for the fans, low-rated shows should never end with a cliffhanger. Which fans? There are fans who are boycotting like me and fans who want to see it. Lucas was already rich before the Disney deal and it's not always about the money. He's planning to give most of it to charity. Not a directing role. Just a suggestion for a Han joke. Not the same. He created and maintained the integrity of the SW universe for 40 years. In interviews he discusses what was important for him re: the films. Based on the interviews, he wanted a trilogy with Luke passing on the Jedi teachings to a younger generation so it would come full cycle. Visually, the galaxy should look very different since decades had passed. His sequel trilogy would've showed the next chapter in the family saga instead of reverting the story back to the OT and destroying the original characters in order for Disney to make more money off of new toys. He said he didn't want a movie based just on spaceships flying around. But, that's what Disney wants. I don't know how the destruction of his legacy wouldn't pain him when millions of fans are upset. Hopefully, I'm wrong and he was just tired. I watched one with less JarJar and another in which he had a less annoying voice. They were improvements, but boring at the same time. I'll confess, JarJar does make me laugh. You're wrong about my expectations re: Disney SW. I never expected their movies to be as good as Lucas', but I'm shocked that Last Jedi was so bad. Art has subjective as well as objective criteria in regard to judging it. For instance, not liking opera is subjective. But, calling an opera singer bad because she can't carry a tune is objective. Quality movie script writing has objective standards too. I agree with many points in this 5+ hour negative review for Last Jedi.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vw7pcCj0ORk Now, I'm listening to a multi-part review of the novel as I read it. Amazingly, this critic has added more movie issues that the 5+ hour critic hadn't mentioned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68H2aOSwqvE&t=56s I'm finding the story analysis more entertaining than the movie. Why did you hate Last Jedi? I just found early Solo reviews. This man basically reiterates what I've been trying to convey to you about reviewers and their reviews. Read the comments about how multiple reviewers use the same word "blast". https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2018/05/11/solo-star-wars-story-blast-world-premiere-first-reactions/601078002/ US Today appears to have fair and honest professional reviewers. Wouldn't it be funny if this movie is really about the female character? Director's re-edit then. The irony is that he re-edited the OT when nobody wanted him to and won't re-edit the PT. I don't think he wanted to deal with the fans attacking him again. Otherwise, he should've kept creative control and hire other people to run the company and make films using his ideas, etc. A director's cut of the prequels would've been good. Less Jarjar, editing, even redoing some things that didn't work. "Lucas is star wars." Exactly. Agreed. What was I thinking? No, the sadness was in his eyes and the way he moved. I've never seen him look like that before. A few people noticed the same thing in their comments. It's at 1:06:26 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfdTeJdu1xw You initially said that you agreed with the criticism, then in your next comment appeared to be backtracking by making excuses such as if it wasn't a Star Wars movie or a sequel. It was the backtracking that I was reacting to, not your first comment. I still disagree with your explanation re: reviewers. I'm assuming you're not a professional reviewer and neither am I so I have no problem in just leaving it as is. It's not conspiracy, but marketing. I used to be in advertising so I tend to view a company like Disney from that perspective. Getting positive press - including reviews - is just part of marketing. Kennedy has angered many fans which has lead to a Solo boycott. It should be interesting to see the impact and what Disney will do. I googled those same reviewer's "The Last Jedi" reviews and found five of them. All were very positive ones. Hmm, could those free preview/premiere movie tickets have anything to do with it? Kevin Polowy - on Twitter: "Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a triumph. Conner Schwerdtfeger - I just saw #StarWars #TheLastJedi and holy hell is it a masterpiece in a lot of insane ways. I think the standout factor is @rianjohnson’s A+ direction. There has never been a Star Wars Movie like this. To be clear: #StarWars #TheLastJedi has some story and character issues. It’s a little overcrowded and wastes some of the characters but those are really minor quibbles in the grand scheme of how much I liked it. Kate Erbland - the second film in the newest trilogy shines its brightest light on compelling and complex female characters, from Rey and Leia to Rose and Captain Phasma — and many more. Steven Weintraub - Got to see 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' in Sao Paulo this morning in @IMAX. Absolutely loved it. @rianjohnson did a tremendous job and I understand why he was asked to develop a new trilogy. Can't wait to see it again. Mike Ryan - I wrote about THE LAST JEDI. With everything going on with me, it was a way too emotional experience. I loved it. I cried. And it's the first time a cry has felt good in what seems like forever. Masterpiece? Complex female characters - Phasma? Rose was compelling? Cried? Please don't drink the Kool-Aid. Wait for credible sources and not these stooges.
