This one has the advantage of archived posts. Movie DB has every board and a professional layout and can replace IMDB for rating movies too. IMDB2 is unquestionably the most popular right now, though. Has IMDB2 continued getting worse? Admittedly I was "part of the problem" but in the long run I'm hoping one of these other ones replaces IMDB. They seemed to be nudging them that way in the first few episodes but they moved on to other things. I just don't know why that seriously bothered anyone. It's not like he's a disruptive figure like naeemak or even Xfiles or something. He just makes rude/snarky replies to everyone's threads (presumably) as a joke. Pretty easy to ignore if you don't like it. You're obviously not much of a Star Wars fan. My old reply didn't get saved here so I'll say Natalie Portman and Jessica Chastain again. Yeah, it may not happen overnight like some people are hoping, but if other sites start (like Letterboxd) to rival start to rival IMDB for movie ratings/information without the core boards users they may not have a net to fall on so to speak. A look at recent Best Picture winners- 2010- The King's Speech (a movie about heterosexual white people) 2011- The Artist (a movie about heterosexual white people) 2012- Argo (a movie about heterosexual white people) 2013- 12 Years a Slave (a movie about heterosexual black people) 2014- Birdman (a movie about mostly heterosexual white people, one gay supporting character) 2015- Spotlight (a movie about heterosexual white people) 2016- (projected winner) La La Land (a movie about heterosexual white people) Not really sure where you're coming from. I don't have a problem with any of this, I'm not one of those people who complains about the Oscars awarding "white" movies, they should just vote for what they think is best regardless of race. Nonetheless the "The Oscars only award movies because they have black/gay people in them" argument has no merit if you actually look at the history. Forgot Solaris too Man With a Movie Camera (even though its silent) Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives Breathless The Missing Picture Andrei Rublev Through a Glass Darkly Bicycle Thieves The Virgin Spring The Seventh Seal Autumn Sonata The Act of Killing Haxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages (again a silent) Cobra Verde Throne of Blood Rashomon L'atalante Ikiru Wild Strawberries The 400 Blows The Five Obstructions Three Colors: Blue M Z Branded to Kill She's more overdue than Leo ever was, IMO. I really don't see the resemblance, guys. I wasn't big on The Hurt Locker because I found it pretty bland, but I didn't really detect any political agenda. It just seemed like a straightforward war movie. There was nothing in the movie that suggested that the Iraq War was a bad or good idea. Looks fine to me. Hopefully activity improves and it overtakes IMDB 2. It's really a better site. It would be easier to list ones that did deserve to win. A shorter list. Natalie Portman since I first saw her in Star Wars. Has been ever since. I would say- 1. The Godfather 2. The Apartment 3. A Man For All Seasons 4. Unforgiven 5. On the Waterfront 6. Gone With the Wind 7. Hamlet 8. Schindler's List 9. All the King's Men 10.No Country For Old Men Fuck fuck fuck, fuckin' cunt Profanity man, it's great stuff. Good to see my suggestion for Naeemak will remain viewable for all posterity. The absence of avs will make him not enjoy this site as much if he finds it.
