Training Day (2002). Very similar Below Average length for a Bollywood movie. Just sayin’ Agree — this part of the movie wasn’t well done. The Italian gangsters came across as comedic instead of intimidating (especially the scenes with the fat guy). It’s underrated probably because it wasn’t appreciated at the time (1993). So many superior gangsta movies had already been released recently (Goodfellas, Untouchables, Scarface) that this one fell through the cracks. They had the lights on. Yeah, he should have taken one of the bikes. The writers / directors must have missed that. It’s been 22 years now. They’re all gone. 1). Platoon 2). First Blood 3). The Deer Hunter / Apocolypse Now Full Metal Jacket fell off in the second half. Yes — I consider first blood a Vietnam War movie. The aftermath of a war means as much as the war itself. Isn’t Hit-Girl too old now? An adult version wouldn’t work so well; and bringing a new child actor is risky. Yes, he truly thought she’d be into that. He wasn’t trying to offend her (he liked her legitimately). He just didn’t know that everyone in the world finds porn offensive. To him, it was no different from a romantic comedy or a Disney musical. The scene helped demonstrate how disconnected he was from the common man. The scene also highlighted his loneliness. If he didn’t already know that he shouldn’t take a girl to a porn movie on a date, then he hasn’t gone on many (if any) dates in his life beforehand. Otherwise, he would have known better. Porn also has strong intrinsic associations with loneliness because it helps men who cannot get real sex with a real woman. I don’t mind remakes when the original was terrible or if the original has become outdated. The issue here is that the original Crow was a wonderful movie that still holds up in 2018. They should leave this one alone. High School for me was no different than college. People came in, went to class, and left. Living in a big city (NYC) is likely the reason people were more dispersed. I barely met anyone from high school, and today, I don’t keep track with anyone I met during that time. Middle School fit the typical description of high school for me. That time, there was the heirarchy, the bullies, the friendships, and the gossip, etc. I would live it again. Affleck was a fine Batman. I don’t think Bale would have improved BvS in a meaningful way. None of the Fantastic Four movies have been good. I think it’s because they’re not good superheroes for the big screen. One turns into fire, one turns invisible, one stretches himself, and one is a pile of rocks. Those powers are not so impressive; maybe if they were all combined in one person, but not by themselves. The characters also don’t have a compelling backstory, and none have charismatic personalities. I’m interested. Probably trying to keep in-line with the rest: - Predator - Predator 2 - Predators (2010) And now - The Predator Rorschach is the main character. The audience sees the plot from his point of view (he even narrates at time), and at the end, the movie seemingly pushes us to side with him more than with anyone else. I guess they really wanted to play up the song’s reference to Valhalla Father Bobby's story wasn't very credible. As you said, his reason for keeping the stubs is suspect, but there's also the issue about how Tommy and John never mentioned this alibi at any point; you'd think they would tell the police and their defense attorney from day 1, no? The suggestion is that Father Bobby's story got them off because Father Bobby was a priest who appeared extremely honorable. The jury just couldn't accept that he, of all people, would lie to get the boys off murder. Kevin Bacon gave an interview about his experience on set. He said that during off-takes, he and the boys would sit together, laughing, joking, and having small talk. Then, once the camera starts rolling, he would abuse them, per character. The boys were able to separate role-playing from reality. The defense brought up that Bacon's character had molested several children when he was a guard at the boys' home. Thus, he had a large amount of enemies who had a motive to kill him. The defense never brought up that Tommy and John were one of those boys who got molested. All juvenile records are destroyed after 7 years, so nobody knew.
