Does anyone really care about this movie?
I mean I'm looking forward to it, but there seems to be almost none of the usual hype surrounding MCU movies for this one.

shareI like martial arts movies so i guess i will be intrigued by this one,by the way i am still angry they didnt include Coleen Wing from Iron Fist in this movie! I guess they could not because Netflix had still the rights when they filmed it,i hope for the second one! After all apparently Daredevil will appear in Spiderman 3 so its possible
shareThe sole writer behind this is one of the co-writers of Wonder Woman 1984. This may be weirder than expected.
shareI'm sure they are targeting China with this film. There are all these Chinese product placement scenes in the various Marvel films that are for the Chinese market. Marvel even rewrote the Mandarin character in the Iron Man movie just to appease Chinese censors.
shareWe had a great interpretation of the Mandarin seven years ago that was ruined for a dumb twist.
shareOf the four films slated for 2021-- Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Eternals, and Spider-Man 3, only Spider-Man 3 is higher on my anticipation list than Shang-Chi. I think the lack of hype is more because of the nearly two year span between the last MCU film and the upcoming Black Widow film, which may not even come out on the day it's currently expected. I think once the pandemic winds down, which it seems that with the election over and a vaccine being distributed should be any day now, and as the Disney+ shows ramp up, and Black Widow comes out, the hype will build.
shareAlthough I'm a DC guy I really like (and own) some MCU movies. That said, I came off the whole 'martial arts movie' (as opposed to action movies) thing years ago, and this isn't re-firing my interest.
shareMeh, I watch anything MCU but this doesn't seem very interesting at all and that's the first time I've felt this way about an upcoming MCU movie.
shareI was reading comics during the actual run of Shang-Chi. Didn't think much of it then nor now. Uninterested in a Marvel/Diz martial arts film. The trailer looked even less interesting than I expected.
shareI'm in this person's boat. If I'm really bored I'll go check it out, but I am not a big martial arts movie guy and the only reason I'm remotely interested in this is it might tie into whatever Marvel is going to in Phase 4 (I'm hoping there is a plan anyway).
I didn't like the comics back in the 1970s (it was just a money grab on the Kung Fu craze and the character was forgotten by the 1980s). It kinda seems like they pulled this together to get China money.
