How much can a man actually physically take?

Let's face it, he was cut with machetes, fought dozens of men back to back, falls a couple stories and is hit by a car, dives out of a truck, is shot, fights trained special forces guy as well as his huge friend, concussed by an RPG, and his shot multiple more times. It was ridiculous.

It's not realistic. There's no doubt about that.

In reality he would've been dead long before the end, and if he did make it to the end, getting shot in the neck and falling into a nasty Indian river definitely would've done him in.

It's kind of like how he plowed his rival with a big ass truck and the guy ended up shaking it off and walk away. C'mon. The dude would've had about 30 broken bones in real life.

But heroes overcoming insane physical damage and walking away has always been a staple of the action genre.

Spoiler alert.

He's the god of thunder - not a man. I hear this movie is the unofficial prequel to Thor.

How much can a man actually physically take?

In an action movie, it's pretty much unlimited.

IKR? In the "I-can-take-it" department, he makes Rambo look like a Cub Scout.

reply

Either the same or less than what a woman can take.

I found it hilarious that his equal, Sanju, took the same beatings as Tyler and his face was broken, bloodied, bruised, and puffy as hell yet Tyler's just had some dirt and a little blood and his "movie star" face was mostly left intact. 😄

As the Baba Yaga himself, John Wick, would say: Yeah

Agreed. This is kind of silly. It's one thing to dodge bullets for 90 minutes... but then to have the hero not have any appreciable injuries (after falling out of windows, fighting, more falling, getting hit by cars etc) is a bit much. It's a shame that the public needs that much action/gore/violence to keep their attention. In reality one moderate injury (ankle, back, shoulder) can take a person out of action for weeks.
