Lead actresses are supposed to look good from EVERY angle
...like Helen Slater. Anybody remember Helen Slater? The only way this casting works is if Gunn avoids profiles and hides that unfortunate underbite of Milly.

shareHelen Slater's Supergirl would be deemed too perfect for todays audiences. A tall, leggy, blue-eyed blonde just makes all the feminists & anti-whites feel bad about themselves.
They need someone less intimidating for the current woke environment, hence why they chose that israeli stick insect in the recent film especially since she wasn't really white which is acceptable to race obsessed audiences. Milly Alcock is perfect because it makes them feel good when they see an average looking girl pushed as a beautiful superhero. They're safe choices.
Crazy world we live in that an actress would be 'too perfect' for Hollywood. I despair sometimes.
shareHave you noticed that actresses aren't as hot as they used to be from the 60s-90s? Where's the new Kathleen Turner, Kim Basinger, Kim Cattrall, Ann Margret etc? All they have now is Margo Robbie and she has bug eyes and little talent.
shareThat classic Hollywood beauty does seem to be missing. Sydney Sweeney has that old school sex appeal at least. Not a classic beauty by any means (more 'girl next door who grew up hot'), but at least she exudes that old style 'I don't mind if you like me mainly because I'm hot' kind of thing.
shareSweeney has a nice face/hooters but she's small & skinny, not like the actresses I mentioned above. Plus her movies look pretty shit.
share'but she's small & skinny'
Not where it counts! π
But as for stars of yesteryear, Raquel Welch, Sophia Loren, Jayne Mansfield, Gina Lollobrigida, Hazel Court, Lynda Carter, would be amongst my favourites.
Lynda Carter is a good choice, especially in this film: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0074228/?ref_=nm_mv_desc
