Silly racism debate
The chick doesn't fit the part. Her skin color is irrelevant. Kristen Stewart or Selena Gomez wouldn't have worked either. Villains used to be menacing and awe-inspiring. Ever heard of that concept?

shareNo they are not always awe inspiring. If you wish to be inspired by the villain then that's your problem.
You fucking nerd losers want a new daddy all the time. (or your femdom) You're so edgy that you identify with the cool badass bad guy as your alpha. Wow. We're all impressed.
But if the figure you feel you need to project your daddy fantasies onto doesn't accommodate them, you come up with these chickenshit so called acting critiques.
You seem to be the one with daddy fantasies here. Anonymous internet loser defends black actress. Now that's what I call true racism. Wasn't talking about acting critiques btw. Learn how to read, dipshit.
share"Chick doesn't fit the part"
"Chick" is an actor.
I never said anything about race. It's just you.
Exactly.
shareno shit they dont have to be awe inspiring but if a character is cartoonishly evil, she also can't look like a cute 19 year old. how did you not know this before i explicitly said it?
shareI must have missed the meeting about what people can and can't look like
sharelol. i guess it's easy to win any argument if you just throw reality out the window. right, and how many psychopathic villains have we had that looked like a cute teen girl? does a villain looking like that even make sense?
shareIf a teenage girl is given a position of power in which to pursue her vengeful agenda, then she is what a villain can look like.
ok so just ignore all casting criterias? it's pointless arguing with people who are dumb as shit and will say anything to win an argument. it's like i'm arguing with children.
share"Ignore all the casting criteria"?
You mean not take a paranoid hissy fit at the sight of non white non males.
This is the.most ridiculous post I've read so far. Let me bring up race so I can try an win an argument I'm losing.👍🏽 keep digging in that well you might find a coin sooner or later. She can't act nothing to do with skin color even if you want it to be.
shareVillains don't have to be menacing or awe inspiring. There are different types of villains and she fits the part fine.
shareTyler Perry would be perfect.
shareThese modern woke Star wars nerds don't get it. Everything is race to them because deep down inside they are racists. Call them what they are- they are racists!
shareexactly. she looks like a cute 19 year old. how is she evil? the fact that we even bring up black is because we know she was cast specifically BECAUSE she was black. that's it.
shareYou don’t know that. You bring up that she’s black because you are a racist.
shareI wish liberals would move to China, Cuba or Venezuela so they can have their big govt including free healthcare and no citizens would own a gun. You won't have to worry about inflation because the govt would be handing out ration cards and everyone will receive the same. People like you have destroyed this country. Reva was cast plain and simple because of her skin color and not because of her acting talents. Black people have been used by democrats for decades and its a shame most of them still can't figure it out
shareI am dark skinned.
I never had an issue with Lando, James Earl Jones voicing Darth Vader, Mace Windu, Captain Panaka nor Jannah... this girl may be a fine actress, I had actually seen her before in The Queen's Gambit where she did a great job... but for this role she comes across as extremely annoying and not menacing at all, reminds me like a fan playing cosplay at a convention.
She was in the queen gambit? Hmmm, I don’t remember so she didn’t annoy me. But did fucking annoy me here, hell she did.
So it’s not her skin color that threw me off.
Agree.
She was really, really annoying.
In contrast, O'Shea Jackson Jr. was really good.
Nothing about racism here, just poor acting.
