The Fans. they want everything to be like the OT, which is why everyone loved The Force Awakens, it was literally 85% similar to A New Hope.

It's circular logic.

Who's to say that Star Wars is "ruined?" Well, the fans.

Who ruined it? Also, the fans.

If it was up to Lucas or Disney, Star Wars is NOT ruined. They've got more money they ever wanted. It's far from being "ruined," it's super succesful actually from their point of view.

It's about half as successful as it ought to be for an IP like that. They've seriously marred its value by botching the sequel trilogy and spin-off films so badly.

That's for Disney, cause they're greedy fucks. Even if all the movies and tv shows are super duper successful they'll still want more. But at least for Lucas it gave him more money than he ever imagined.
