The other thing you could see it's not all about the money but the power this is sort of explained in the film.

I am open to being educated - Please list the billionaires who made their money legally then went into drug dealing. Credible sources please, not Joe's Conspiracy Site, etc.

Billionaire involved in drug trafficking gets off because *gasp* he's a billionaire.
You would have to be an absolute fool to think that every billionaire out there is honest in their earnings, and that some of them haven't dabbled in drug trafficking to raise or increase their empire.
For crying out loud, Jeffrey Epstein is probably the most famous billionaire involved with sex trafficking kids:

There's absolutely nothing outlandish about a billionaire willing to buy up stock of an illegal marijuana distribution chain for a turnaround in making lucrative cash once it all goes legal (which was the reason he was buying into the trade in the first place). He would have been ahead of the market on the supply chain and still making money from the illegal distribution in international trade.
They never said billionaires don't take risks, just that it would seem unlikely that one would take this particular risk...

shareThe whole point of the business being sold was that the understanding of the Marijuana growing/selling was going to become legal in a few years so he was capitalising on it now and buying into an already established business although illegal for now but once legalised he would of made even more billions!

That said, the movie projected the half-billion investment would become up to 2 trillion, at frequency..... rules blur when the big T is on the horizon. And it was further assumed weed would soon be soon legalized, and having the fields and production capability would give him the first-mover advantage.
