Help me understand why a billionaire would want to risk his good life to become part owner of a drug empire?
Seriously.
shareSeriously.
shareTo become an even bigger Billionaire.
shareNever underestimate the perceived need for those with lots of money to have even more.
shareBecause it sounds cool. No legitimate billionaire would take that risk.
shareNot true billionaires become billionaires because they takes risks I suggest you do your home work and you would see this investing safe doesn't really make you anything.
The other thing you could see it's not all about the money but the power this is sort of explained in the film.
As for this movie, the tag line (I meant plot) required it.
Billionaires take calculated risks.
I am open to being educated - Please list the billionaires who made their money legally then went into drug dealing. Credible sources please, not Joe's Conspiracy Site, etc.
LOL this literally just occurred back in 2019 when this film came out:

Billionaire involved in drug trafficking gets off because *gasp* he's a billionaire.
You would have to be an absolute fool to think that every billionaire out there is honest in their earnings, and that some of them haven't dabbled in drug trafficking to raise or increase their empire.
For crying out loud, Jeffrey Epstein is probably the most famous billionaire involved with sex trafficking kids:

That's not to mention many billionaires caught in other corruption and bribery schemes on behalf of organized criminals:

Or the billionaires who found their way into lucrative deals based on paying to put puppets into office in exchange for sweet deals:

There's absolutely nothing outlandish about a billionaire willing to buy up stock of an illegal marijuana distribution chain for a turnaround in making lucrative cash once it all goes legal (which was the reason he was buying into the trade in the first place). He would have been ahead of the market on the supply chain and still making money from the illegal distribution in international trade.
They never said billionaires don't take risks, just that it would seem unlikely that one would take this particular risk...
shareHonest debate amongst my friends, did Eddie Marsan’s character “Big Dave” give it to the pig or did the pig give it to Big Dave?
shareBig Dave gave it to the pig as a pigs dick is like a cork screw and doubt could of got into Dave plus probably would of killed him if tried to mount Dave due to the size etc.
sharehahahaha... Good question
sharethey are showing female pig... so i would guess, he gave it to miss pig.
shareThe whole point of the business being sold was that the understanding of the Marijuana growing/selling was going to become legal in a few years so he was capitalising on it now and buying into an already established business although illegal for now but once legalised he would of made even more billions!
sharethere you go, you got the answer lad.
shareWhich Matt clearly spelled out to Jeremy AND specifically stated that when it was legal his own shady past would hinder his ability to transition to a legitimate and legal grower.
shareEgo.
shareBusiness is business, Winnetou. Big business is always and constantly on the edge of the law, where its gotta be.... bigger business is on the wrong side of the law. But it is all business.
The difference between a gangster and a businessman; The businessman knows how to play the game legally.
That said, the movie projected the half-billion investment would become up to 2 trillion, at frequency..... rules blur when the big T is on the horizon. And it was further assumed weed would soon be soon legalized, and having the fields and production capability would give him the first-mover advantage.
Well said. Someone was actually paying attention to the plot.
