I thought the Jedi reveal was very well done especially for a TV show and good decision to keep it brief much better then the movie uncanny valley cgi.
It was fantastic, but why no artistic drawings at the end, that would have been so good, the Fett teaser was a good replacement but would have been better with both.
When I saw the X-Wing show up, I was prepared to be disappointed, no way did I think it would be the Return of the Jedi, and then the reveal cameโฆI clapped like a fanboy I must admit and then when my favourite droid turned up too I was beaming with happiness! This show made me love Star Wars again, for the first time in years!
The CGI to Luke was incredible, so much better than Leia and Tarkin in Rogue One, I hope we get to see more of Luke Skywalker in further episodes/spin offs.
How much time was supposed to have passed since "Return"? Luke looked exactly like he did then.
So, I guess Baby Yoda gets trained by Luke, disappears, or is killed by crazy Kylo. Then, everything goes to hell with Kylo going nuts, and Luke instantly gives up and becomes a hermit.
That's the problem with have a great series like "The Mandalorian" having to run up the the mess of the sequel trilogy.
Yeah but the exact same clothes? The all black that symbolises his temptation by the dark side.
Either they were just making sure the fans whooped when they saw him that way. Or they are implying that the temptation still follows Luke around more than 5 years after he rejected the Emperor. Or both.
The technology continues to advance. But it's still expensive and difficult, and only works well when the actor isn't moving around and dancing, fighting, etc. Luke stayed cloaked until he was done with the battle droids. And they kept his scenes brief. It'll be some years still before they can feature characters with digitally remapped faces, unlimited activity and screen time.
Perfect final episode minus the end credits, as you said, there should have been artistic drawings as well as that classic Mandalorian theme song playing.
When I saw the X-Wing fly into the hangar bay, I thought... "no, it couldn't be." It's probably ret-conned Corran Horn from the EU's X-Wing novels, or Wedge Antilles or something with a new actor. Then I saw the lightsaber and the green shine, and then I knew. Blown away.
Luke vs. Dark Troopers. Some of us have been waiting to see that since 1995's Star Wars Dark Forces for MS-DOS PC, and not only that, but the Return of the Jedi Luke Skywalker likeness, which we haven't seen since 1983's Return of the Jedi, and all the many now non-canon games since like Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy.
Then we have Boba Fett returning to Jabba's palace, I always kinda thought he liked that place, in ROTJ where he was enjoying himself with the ladies.
I wonder how Jabba's flunky wound up in charge? He doesn't seem the type to last long as a crime boss, you'd think someone before Boba would've come along and unseated him.
A proper one, one fully trained by the Jedi Order, even if one of her teachers wasn't quite-quite. I've hard a rumor she's getting her own show, for what that's worth.
I wonder where the hell the show goes form here, I've heard that Pascal is over the show, and that they're going to switch lead Mandalorians every so often. Maybe it's about Bo-Kanan and the Return of the... Queen, for the next couple of seasons.
I thought the de-aging bit - or whatever tech they used this time around was pretty crappy. I think it's only a matter of time until we see youtubers doing it proper for fraction of the cost, as was the case with irishman.
I COMPLETELY agree about how it was handled. The worst mistake in the world would be to have had Luke be a recurring character. It was handled perfectly, much like Tarkin in Rogue One. We should never see Luke again, or if we do, it be very limited like the finale.
