They're the LAST of HER kind, not species but family.
It may be a distinction that makes no difference, but I personally think it helped explain how chill she was about the Child eating her eggs.
And like zeesha says above, her species probably produces an overabundance of eggs as a reproductive strategy. Her husband and she appeared to be perfectly satisfied with one tadpole, at least to start with.
Also, the bigger point being missed is that the Child is not "evil" or "good." He's a toddler - he's still got a lot to learn. Like when he spat out the live frog when the human children laughed at him. True, that wasn't an ethical lesson so much as a table-manners lesson, but still, he's learning.
Personally, although the show could never last long enough to credibly confirm this, I think it'd be cool to see the Child grow up to follow Din Djarin's fundamentalist code. With Yoda's force powers, he'd be a pretty badass bounty hunter. And we'd get to see what their species is like when one believes "wars DO make one great."
Can't figure the helmet would do him any good though. Even full-grown, the ear-space and height would give him away. So much for remaining anonymous
