I notice the right are trying to claim this show and Jon Favreau as their own.

But Kathleen Kennedy is still heavily involved - and just because the show and Favreau are not shouting from the rooftops doesn't mean they're conservative or "anti-SJW."

reply

Nobody has said the show is 'right-wing' or whatever.

The show has barely any politics (for now, knock on wood). It's not brilliant, but at least it doesn't feel like somebody is indoctrinating you. That's all.

You interpret 'non-political' as 'right-wing'? Well, that's up to you. In general, people who are highly polarized in terms of religion/politics perceive anything that doesn't side with them as 'dissident'.

reply

None of the Star Wars films have any politics in them, but that hasn't stopped the lunatic fringe on both sides from clamoring. Enjoy it for what it is.

Excuse me?

Literally retarded.

reply

Right on cue, three of the fringe loonies. Let's hear it-- what political statements did you read into Episodes 7 and 8?

reply

Literally retarded.

reply

And we care.....why? Star wars is for everyone.

reply

I notice KK sycophants are trying to give credit to her for the Mandalorian when Favreau clearly deserves all the credit.

reply

No one cares mate. It's almost like you're unhappy people are enjoying the show and feel the need to ruin it somehow. Leave your agenda at the door please, just tell me good stories.

reply

Executive producer means nothing I guess.

reply

It never has.

reply

Depends on the situation....

That sounds about... reich.
The right be like, No, you agenda! What we’re *mainly* concern with is a good story and the quality of the film despite the fact that we cry about SJWs 24/7!! Quit trying to spin things like WE always do!

Oh, typical desperate reactionaries.... this is something they’re incredibly dedicated to doing after all. That is, almost every time a high-profile film/show comes out... usually a franchise property+one that also isn’t made by the Clint Eastwoods of “Hollyweird”... and doesn’t, as you said, shout from the rooftops but nevertheless in no way tries to pander to the Disney/Hollywood-hating right, said right 100% tries to claim these properties as their own. This especially happens whenever a few social justice folks out there take issue with something trivial, or not trivial, in these movies and shows; and let’s not forget that these supposedly “anti-social justice” films & shows are mostly made by non-cons. On top of that, many of these righties often like to pit the rare new Hollywood films they embrace against other seemingly more ‘PC’ films (Alita: Battle Angel anyone?). You can’t make this shyt up!

But just wait... if this show DOES get a little too anti-social injustice for the right, naturally they shall be whining and sounding like the broken records that they are. I mean, this show’s cast has already been quite diverse so far, and if it dares to take things any further, e.g., show the powerless resisting the powerful/tyrants in a way that’s reflective of the real world, portray equality as a good thing etc., then certain groups that detest the new Star Wars - but have welcomed The Mandalorian - will definitely denounce Mando! XD Viva Pedro Pascal!

And agendas? Yep, and obsessive and happily hypocritical reactionaries that have thrown nonstop tantrums over Disney Star Wars for the last four years for very specific reasons... that evil propaganda of inclusion... just want a good film. *eye roll*
(Notice how I specifically said reactionaries and didn’t imply it was *everyone* when referring to Disney SW detractors btw? I’m too familiar with the way these totally-not-agenda-driven-bros like to twist things.) Furthermore, they can come up with as many excuses as they want, but that won’t change the fact that ultimately the Freddy Krueger for numerous old Star Wars fans, Ms. Kennedy, is a big reason why this show exists. Anywho, as Rise of Skywalker has now arrived and, unlike Last Jedi, it isn’t being received well by many “formerly paid” critics, we’re currently witnessing a cucktastrophe from the tin foil hating wearing and true propaganda-spreading reich wing nerds (granted this was going to happen regardless of how critics responded to ROS). Such petty things.

P.S. In somewhat related (GOOD) news: that criminal MF worshipped by chuds has rightfully been IMPEACHED!

SJW Derangement Disorder! Amazing You People haven't called Mandalorians fascists yet. Don't forget Bill Burr.

Yawn

reply

where are "the right are trying to claim this show" ?

got any links?

reply

No one wants to be lectured to, we don’t want politics of any kind in Star Wars, Star Trek, Terminator and Doctor Who, but just good stories!

reply

To be fair I don't actually even mind politically driven stories in Sci Fi, just not in the modern ham-fisted heavy-handed talk-down-to-the-audience style of storytelling. These modern writers are mainly hacks with no nuance to anything, just a bunch of fart huffing, self congratulatory back slappers.
