SO how much longer do you think they will stretch this out/Predictions for S5.

I still like the show but it seems to be cycling itself with revenge stories. Revenge is the main theme of the show asides from nostalgia.

I would prefer the show go out whilst still being decent rather than going for too many seasons and getting (more) stupid than it already can be.

Predictions for S5..

* Kreese is assisted by Johnny/Daniel in a bid to destroy Cobra Kai.
* Kreese bows out of the show altogether after being helped out and promises to leave everyone alone.
* Silver is stopped. Goes back to playing piano. Possibly banned from Karate due to bribing officials.

The show could probably end there. Johnny makes amends with his son after a massive brawl or tournament. Or brawl after the tournament lol.

The city they live in decides to ban Karate altogether!

The End? (for now..)

Ok a couple of those towards the end were for fun. I know they will try for season 6 regardless.

I've read somewhere there's a rumor where Hillary Swank (Julie from KK4) will play Tory's sick mother. Producers were in fact playing mysterious about contacting her ("maybe we spoke with her, maybe we didn't").

reply

That would be a little different, unless Swank will actually be playing Julie from KK4. I'm not sure if that is what you are saying they intend to do or if Swank will be a different character?

reply

Yes, what I'm saying is, if the rumor is true, Julie is Tory's mother.

I think they've already gone on too long so I would hope it doesn't go past season 5. The characters just keep switching back and forth between good and bad, bully and peacekeeper. There's only so many showdowns they can all have with each other. It looked like we might finally get an end to the Daniel and Johnny bickering and then we just got even more of it for this season. Don't get me wrong it's entertaining and easy to watch, but I think if everything wrapped up with season 3 then it really could have gone out on a high note.

Terry Silver mentioned in a line to Kreese that he has people he plans on bringing in to help him, which opens the door for Mike Barnes.

It will be interesting to see what they do with Chozen now that he has apparently come to So-Cal. I just hope this isn’t a jump the shark moment. (Why would he come to LA?)

And if that wasn’t the jump the shark moment...I think bringing Hillary Swank in might be the equivalent to adding Ted McGinley to the cast.

This is such a great, fun show....and a brilliant concept. I just hope they figure out an awesome way to end it...and hopefully before it goes downhill.

That should actually be its own thread: How should Cobra Kai end??

Hoping it goes as long as it can.

I thought season 4 was great.

Thomas Ian Griffith killed it! And he was exactly what the show needed to keep it fresh. Not to mention that you can tell he is an actual martial artist.

The Miguel/Johnny angle was heartbreaking. When he called him "Robbie", I felt so bad for him. And he played it perfectly.

The only thing I still don't like is turning Hawk face. He was such a good villian.

The writers seem to have a good feel on how to keep the show entertaining. As long as that holds up, I say keep it going.

Yes, that scene between Johnny and Miguel was a very good one, and seems to get overlooked (or just overshadowed by all the bigger moments).

But the show needs those little grace notes once in a while. It’s what elevates from satire...to something with some heart.

I suppose there’s still stuff they can do with Daniel’s son’s arc. He’s hopefully growing out of being an a-hole. I was hoping he’d connect with the new kid. Instead...they’re making the new kid a db.
