What kind of membership plans are in place for any of these kids on across any of the show's dojos?
They all seem to be having lessons pretty much every single day with Johnny able to earn enough to sustain himself despite only having about six students...
The magic of Television! The kids seem to mostly be wealthy their parents would be paying for the lessons. Cobra Kai seem to attract the poorer type kids.
Johnny also doesn't seem to have his maintenance job anymore or at least we are not hearing about it.

I had a feeling that after Ed Asner passed away, they might write it in that Johnny's stepdad passed away and left him a lot of money.
But I was wrong. reply share
Yeah Johnny really did lose everything. I am sure he has more money than he displays though, guys like him usually live cheap and save a lot of what they earn.
That is a good assessment. You dont see Johnny with anything lavish at his place, basically all practical. Though he must have a high cost for drinking beer every single day. It adds up.
Ed Asner died after Season 4 was done filming. If it's going to be mentioned, it'll be Season 5. I don't know why his character would leave anything to Johnny though lol, unless the guy just has no other family and he forgot to write out a will.
Season 1, first episode, Johnny's Stepdad said "I made a promise to your mother that I would take care of you and I am keeping that promise". So why wouldnt he have Johnny in his will?
Miguel, Tori and Robbie would all seem to be strictly one hour per week students at best based upon income.
You could argue that Daniel-San could run Miyagi-do not for profit. But not Cobra Kai. Kreese was destitute when he resurfaced. But then I guess he's got Kyler and perhaps a few other weathly students...
But Johnny only had about six kids and only recruited that girl for tournament purposes rather than the fact he would be flat broke!
I think it would be against Daniel-San's ethics to charge for Miyagi-Do it wouldn't look good to charge students to wax and polish his cars! He also doesn't need the money he had that property and the old cars just sitting there unused for decades. So clearly money isn't a concern.
Cobra Kai is all about the money and they have a DoJo they have to pay rent on so it makes sense they would charge.
Eagle Fang is cut rate! Whether Johnny even charges would be interesting to find out. He uses anything he can get his hands on including unused warehouses and roof tops!
And what about that hostile take-over by Kreese? The dojo was still in Johnny's name, he was the one paying the rent and gathering the fees, now all of that would have to change. I'm pretty sure Johnny wasn't interested in keep paying the rent after he left.
That was all rather convenient, it was like high school bully tactics but the real world is a little more complex than that. That said, did Johnny even register the business?!
