is there a more disappointing superhero (first) sequel than WW84?
Superman II? No way.. Batman Returns? No..Blade 2? No...X2? lol... Spiderman 2? No... Amazing SM2? No.. TDK? phaha... Cap America TWS? No..
Thor TDW? Maybe... Ironman 2? idk ... Avengers Ultron? kinda.. Birds of Prey? Isn't really the sequel to SS
Batman & Robin and Superman 3 were both sequels.

Batman Returns had made sense even if that sense was gothic and at times angry.
My only regret was it left us hanging---bc Keaton, Pfeiffer and Burton all moved on to other projects. Oh and we got a horrible 'Catwoman' sequel which never should have seen the light of day.

Batman Returns was a commercial success. It only had a $80,000,000 total production budget but made back $162,833,635 in domestic sales alone
Batman and Robin LOST money domestically. It had a $125,000,000 budget but only made $107,325,195 domestically ouch
im only talking about 1st immediate sequels like Batman Returns, Superman II, WW84 etc and you right BR wasnt a disappointment. Well it was a bit in comparison to B89 as it was a drop in box office and esp to WBros who didnt like all the complaints from parents complaining that their traumatized kiddies were crying into their BR happy meals lol

One of the worst ones was dark knight rises. Even though the actors involved were good the whole thing is a mess and the twist is unnecessary and the ending is crap. It was set up to be the best comic book trilogy until the 3rd one
