Did Sara Gilbert forget her lines in that scene?

The scene where shes talking to Mark in his room and he tells her no one played with him or talked to him, she sat there for a really long while without a saying a word, it felt kinda awkward. I guess you can pass it off as her being really saddened and choked up for a moment but it went on a little too long imo, just felt like she forgot what to say for a moment.

I felt she, and Roseanne, hadn't memorised their lines in the short term memory part of the brain. It was like "retrieving data" and we were watching the lines load.

reply

It was pretty obvious she was supposed to be emotional.

Yeah i get that but as i said it went on a bit too long and felt awkward.

Might just have been bad acting. A few times the timing of the actors seemed a bit odd.

we got to get you to 5000

I hadn't even noticed! Only 30 to go! Not much fun without Dewey, though.☹

I didn't see it...is the show live or something? If not, the editor could've fixed it easily if it was too long.

reply

It seemed perfectly natural. A lot of times it’s hard to know what to say to someone who’s upset, especially your child.

reply

That’s how I saw it

I don't think they're shooting this show like a typical sitcom with multiple takes. Seems to be done all at once like a stage play.
