At the end…
At the end - the two developers finally realise they love each other, and hug in the middle of the road…
Did anyone else hope they were also in a computer game, and “our world” was also a game.

No
shareI was hoping they would get hit by a truck
share^^This!^^
shareI thought a great ending would be as Rain Wilson and Elijah Wood’s son would be crossing the street from the coffee shop and a speeding car came along and catapulted him into the air and as he hit the pavement, the credits roll. But the Man would never allow an ending like that.
shareThe ending is a downer. I was hoping Free guy gets the girl.
shareSame, not sure how it would have worked but the "AI" Guy was the one she fell in love with. I was hoping for some brilliant way they could be together.
shareI loved it. Finally a curve ball on the love interest expected trope
shareThat was actually quite heartbreaking. This movie is hilarious and has a great sense of adventure, but the parts like that are what really elevate it.
shareI was hoping that they found out Guy was really the fat guy in the basement from the South Park WoW episode operating behind a VPN.
shareOh that is similar to the ending of MIB, that would be interesting.
I was hoping they remove or tweak Guy's AI and perhaps give the characters/NPC a story arc.
