Hugh Jackman came back for this shit?

Just got out of the theater and this was a complete disappointment in almost every way. The charm of the first two Deadpool films was nowhere to be found here. This movie was concerned more with fan service and cameos than delivering a good story. It's not as bad as something like the Marvels, but it still has many of the same problems we've seen with Marvel for the past two phases. Weak stories and villains, has some money moments but most of the humor falls flat and feels too try hard. Biggest surprise to me was how unremarkable the action was in this. One of the big set pieces had so much shakey cam I could barely tell what was going on. Thankfully, Hugh Jackman brought his A game to save this from being a complete waste of time, but behind all the fanservice and cameos this is just more of the same bad Marvel shit we've been seeing lately.

It even looked bad in the trailers β€” formulaic and unfunny.

reply

Absolutely un-formulaic.

reply

Un-absolutely in-formulaic

It’s all about the $$$$. This movie is going to make big money, and Jackman got paid

I'm seeing this in IMAX at 4PM tomorrow and will lower my expectations.. Perhaps a beer or 2 before the movie will hit the spot.

Did you like it?

I absolutely LOVED IT!! Everything about it was nothing short of Fantastic and the villain, she reminded me of a young Jodie Foster if you focus on her during her scenes, just bald is all.. The opening scene with Wade digging up LOGAN'S grave made me laugh for a good 5 minutes and that's a hard feat to do too!! πŸ˜‚ Also, when Wade looked over at Jackman's Abs in that scene toward the end and I just lost it!! πŸ˜‚ They really did accomplish what they set out to do and that's basically welcome Wade Wilson into the MCU Officially and say Goodbye to FOX

Thank you!

I rewatched the first 2 Deadpool and found them really boring.
The 2nd is alot better but the first just wasn't funny anymore.

Total stale jokes ... Too many looking at the camera moments.
I could have gone to Deadpool 3 last weekend but I didn't evn feel like going.

It just feels like the original Deadpool wasn't even that good. It was only good compared to other MCU films. Which is a really low standard.

It wasn't like Monty Python or even National Lampoons where it gets funnier each viewing. It just got even less funny.

Holy shit dude you sound like a kid that just found out Santa wasn't real. Are you gonna be OK?

reply

Uh... okay?

Sorry for having my own opinions?

You probably have never formed your own opinion or your own thoughts on anything in your entire life, because you're a retarded Zillenial / Gen Z, who can't think to save their lives.

Your average IQ points of your generation have declined about 5 points from the previous one.

So obviously the concept of independent thought is completely foreign to you, someone who is probably sufficiently entertained by achieveing the max Season level in COD.

Opinions vary.

"This movie was concerned more with fan service and cameos than delivering a good story." In this instance, it worked.

"Weak stories and villains" I didn't think the villain was weak at all. Even if, the villain was a secondary character. It wasn't a good vs evil story. It was about Deadpool's journey.

"most of the humor falls flat and feels too try hard" I went in afraid of this happening. It's very easy to make Deadpool's humor overly cringey, and it's something movies in the MCU have struggled with since Ragnarok. However, I didn't cringe once.

"unremarkable the action was in this. One of the big set pieces had so much shakey cam I could barely tell what was going on" the fight in the desert, the car fight, and the big battle at the end were all great. I can't tell which you're referring to.

Considering how much money this movie is raking in i don't think Mr Jackman has any regrets about his decision. I thought it was good. Not Marvel at it's best but a fun entertaining ride.

Even though it was sort of his character in this movie, Hugh just looked fed up and uninterested.

reply

Sort of? It WAS his character.
