I passed Shirley McClaine in the lobby of a big talent agency once. She refused to be seated, and was standing with her hand on her hip, looking crabby. I guess I don't blame her. Meanwhile, I snuck in ahead of her, furtively.

TELL IT
There was another Iranian director who got denied entry (I think in the short film category.)
Can you imagine winning an Oscar and not being able to accept it.

Exactly ! He had the freedom of choice to be there but instead chose to jump on a convenient bandwagon and used his celebrity to make a political statement; but then, weren't we expecting this tonight ?

Don't know. IFC used to have a short film show back in the day, maybe still do, and they would show them.
