New Klingongs suck? Like?
So they didn't stay true and created Klingongs that look different. What do hardcore fans think?

shareI know, right? I just saw them myself. I haven't been keeping up and didn't know they had changed the look of the Klingons. Why did they do that?
shareBecause Gene isn't alive anymore to beat the stupidity out of the ego of the people involved. It's another Enterprise. Lots of potential but not TNG quality.
shareI just don't get it though. I read where the producer said the look for Klingons has changed throughout the years, and that's not even remotely true. They've primarily had one look. Even Enterprise knew to keep that look, and when it did change, they came up w/a good reason for the change. I don't even want to look at these freaky, reptilian, slimy looking-Klingons. Haha!
shareI agree. They are grotesque. I couldn't care less about the inconsistencies in the way the Klingons looked in TOS and in the subsequent series, but here they are not only repulsive to look at, they barely seem humanoid.
shareRight?!? The look is really awful and threw me out of the show. The change was unnecessary, esp in light of all the other changes.

Hardcore fans watch the trailers and read fan sites. You seem to be a troll.
I've seen the new Klingons, ships, uniforms months ago.
Anyone with a different opinion or taste is a troll nowadays. Don't resort to name calling. Say your argument, respectfully, or go away.
shareI saw one of the trailers but didn't realize they were Klingons.
shareLOL! Just because you live and breathe all things Star Trek doesn't mean the rest of us do.
shareI consider myself a hardcore fan of many things, Star Trek being one of them, and I make it a point not to watch trailers or read fansites and what nots until I've seen the show or film. Only time I watch trailers is at the cinema.
Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.
Hate the new Klingons, can't stand subtitles. I read an interview with the guy who created this Star Trek monstrosity and he actually said something like "I hope the fans like subtitles"!
Real fans will not be tuning in.
This is what you get when you mess with what fans want. Screw fans, we'll make lizard people!
shareActually, imagine what Worf would look like if all his hair fell out - it's a little closer to these guys (though not exactly the same). More variety in skin tone with the new Klingons too. One thing I don't like is that the prosthetics are obviously bulky and restrictive; they're speaking the old Klingon language, but the actors struggle to enunciate. They sound like they're wearing mouthpieces. Which come to think of it, they probably are.
shareThey are horrible. From mannerisms to uniforms, they are not Klingons. No one likes them.
shareNo matter what anyone says, I think this is a totally different timeline. At some point in the story (maybe this season, maybe not) there will be a time travel element, something will happen to alter the past and turn the present into the familiar version. The showrunners' denials of this being another timeline are probably just to avoid spoiling the twist. Although technically, if these events are worked into the so-called Prime timeline so that they're critical to the way things have always been in the Star Trek universe, the show could be called part of that timeline. We only know a handful of details about the century between Jonathan Archer and James Kirk so it wouldn't be hard to arrange things that way.
