these are very sad times.

It was a good movie, but you're right, the ending was a bit of a downer and the comic relief from his friend just didn't feel authentic.

I like Daniel Kaluuya as an actor but his is one of the most unworthy unworthy nominations of an actor in years. It's embarrassing how blatantly the Academy was trying to shoe horn as many black actors into nominations to avoid another Oscars So White campaign

His performance was perfectly fine for a run of the mill horror movie, but to put him in the same league as giants like Gary Oldman, Denzel Washington, and Daniel Day-Lewis is so ridiculous

It's a good movie. But I don't think we should be giving Peele the master auteur title after just one film. It had some problems, the ending chief among them. It's a nice start, but there were better movies with better direction this year, no question.

Absolutely ridiculous. If this wins, it will be the next "Crash".

This is the simple reality of our times. A few years ago the Academy Awards came under fire for a lack of black representation,so now they stack as many black films as they can in the awards section based in the color of peoples skin versus the quality of the movie. No real movie fans can say that this might be movie or any movie like this EVER would have been considered for a nomination if it didn't have a social agenda. There is a long history of film to base this on, and horror films that have been huge critical and financial successes wouldn't have gotten a second thought. This film is a nominee simply to appease the outraged left,and nothing more. You can pretend that is a racist comment,or that this movie is better than it was,but that doesn't change reality. This goes back to the year that 12 years a slave got a bunch of votes from people who hadn't even seen it. That really happened. This isn't about talent anymore,it's about patting themselves on their backs for how enlightened they are. Seems obvious this is nominated just to avoid any talk of racism. Sad.
